If your Steam Deck Broke, Would You Buy Another One or a Different Handheld?

I sidegraded to the Legion Go S SteamOS version and I've sworn to never buy anything else but a Steam Deck again. While on paper it seems great, more power, better screen, steamOS, more ram, more everything. It also has it's downsides you realize when you actually use it daily. It's bulky and heavy

On August 6th, Legion go s Windows and Steam versions received the latest AMD drivers, and from January until now, Legion go og has not received any latest drivers at all. Is it worth waiting for the official AMD Legion og drivers? I'm afraid this will happen again with Legion go 2

Why would I buy another Lenovo device when they've shown zero commitment to supporting devices for any length of time? I keep seeing posts from their rep saying "I promise it will get better" and nothing happens. Unbelievable that Legion Go has received such poor driver support.

Windows hate is overblown.

I think it's mostly around the current implementation of windows on handhelds. It's a standard version of windows, with some extra bits on top to shoehorn it onto handhelds. Steamos was purpose built with handhelds in mind. It's also based on arch Linux and runs only what's required. Whereas you got

Concerned to play fortnite on Legion Go 1

I've been playing Fortnite on my Legion laptop for 5 years, less so in the last 6 months. You're not getting banned for no reason at all. I can't get Fortnite to work on my SteamOS Legion Go S anyway. I read it works fine with the Windows version, though.

Legion Go

For context I own; 1 Rog Ally Z1E 1 Rog Ally X 1 Legion Go Z1E Multiple steam decks PS Portal handheld Switch 1 & 2 Of all my handhelds the Legion Go was the least used and least performant relative to Rog Ally. Lenovo Legion team has really terrible driver support where the last GPU driver update f

SteamOS Decky Plugin - Wifi Optimizer (improves wifi/streaming) - I added support for the entire LegionGo line and need testers.

Awesome! This would be even better if it could run a script to get 6ghz wifi working by adding the regdom region. Bonus points if it could white list it to survive updates. Unfortunately the legion go s requires tinkering to get 6ghz running

Which handheld should I buy?

I have to be honest and just caution how much weight you put into what you read on Reddit lately as it is just bot central. I am a little out of handhelds currently as I went to XR experience and am streaming my games to my Apple Vision Pro m5. Talk about a giant investment when I was originally loo

AMD adrenalin software is a bigger problem than windows imho.

As I have white ally and legion go s I think Lenovo just has it integrated in a different way. Although I have to say even out of the box the white ally also had issues with it I had to reinstall it in factory reset state after many fails once I selected that it worked. On the legion go s you just c

Legion Go S or 2

Ok this is a request I see quite a bit. It's a good question. I'll explain from my perspective and maybe it will help you. Personally, for me I don't think the Legion go 2 is worth the extra price increase. Especially if you consider the price when the original Legion go when it came out in oct 2023
