Well, once they fix the control binding after wake issue and HDR issues on the Legion Go 2, I'd be more than happy to use it. Until then I'll just patiently wait for SteamOS official from Lenovo, then back to dual booting.

The only trouble I have on my end with SteamOS is the brightness control, but you can use the Deskey loader and install the control software on it, which is not a big deal to me

I have it on external screen but can confirm that Thunderbolt-based eGPU connection works with Lenovo Legion Go 2 in Windows 11. (I have RTX 5080 and it's an overkill for what's possible over that bandwidth but it allows me to play in 4K without worries) Can't say about internal screen specifically
