Laptop prices
TL;DR: Seeing the same thing. Our historically best value Lenovo E14 fleet laptop is now quoting around $1,676 each, which is roughly 74% to 134% higher than our 2023 to 2025 purchase history. Weirdly, the higher tier T14 is currently cheaper at about $1,471 each, but even that is still 53% to 105%

E14 g4

We’re swapping out Chromebooks for Neos over the next few weeks
What was your thought process on picking this over the Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 7 or E16 Gen 3? Lack of upgradable RAM was a big issue in our org

E14 VS. T14
E14 G7 is the more modular, with dual internal NVMe drive support, and upgrade-able WiFi cards, but its metal topped plastic chassis, isn't as rugged as the T14, and its displays are poorer, especially the entry level 45% NTSC. T14, metal sub-frame with a reinforced composite chassis, and stronger h

Prices went nuts over the night
Oh yeah the price hikes are insane. I bought my Thinkpad e14 gen 7 for INR 68k (Indian Rupees) (managed to get a 10k discount) in late-Jan. Last month the price of the same device jumped to 97k INR which is insane. I would say that the price hikes are inordinately steep even by current market standa

Thinking About Getting an E14 Gen 3
Varies by country, but reasonable for a 5 yr E14 G3, but you must verify the fitted display. E14 displays are not the best, and the G3 had 4 options all 16:9 FHD, a 250 nit TN panel, that's worth avoiding. The other 3, all IPS panels - 250 nit, or 300 nit 45% NTSC, or a superior 100% sRGB 300 nit. A

Why does the E and L series thinkpad get so much hate?
Lenovo's mix-and-match options make no damned sense. The T14 and T14s don't get high ppi IPS screens, only non-touch and touchscreen OLED 2.8k panels. The cheaper variants get that atrocious 45% NTSC LCD. Is there anything stopping someone from taking an E14 G7 2.8k IPS screen and putting it into a

Got my first Thinkpad (E14 G7)
I honestly don’t understand why Lenovo doesn’t provide 2.8K screen on the AMD variant of the E14 Gen 7. Like seriously! They ruined an almost perfect laptop by only giving you the option of a 1080x1200 45% NTSC screen.

Shitty sounding Harmon speakers on my newly bought e14 gen3
btw e14 gen 7 also totally shitty speakers. HP probook 445 g7 is much better, especially in the bass department. Lenovo has no bass. Literally nothing below 150 Hz. And no kind of built-in EQ.
