Why would you want a soundbar, or rather, why wouldn't you want dedicated monitors? For half of the price of that soundbar, you can have a very nice pair of monitors: KRK Rokit 7/8s (if you want some more saturation and lower end boost) or Adam T7V (if you want to hear exactly what your synth is doi

Best studio monitors for House & Techno?

If you're not concerned with accuracy, then you don't need to go with studio monitors, but not all of them are truly flat. I have the KRK 7" G4 and looking to add the 10 G4 subwoofer, but if I was just DJing I'd buy a pair of Mackie Thump Go plus their 8" sub. At least those would double up as porta

ADAM vs Kali

Rokit 7 g5’s. KRK’s have come a long way, the G4 was almost perfect but had too much hiss. G5’s are awesome. Would get Kali if I had to choose today, I think. But I mostly use them for listening so I just want them to sound good and give me a good musical experience and I feel like my Rokit G5’s hav

Speaker Recommendations? (PA vs Monitors)

If you're only playing in a living room, then I'd go with studio monitors. Honestly, unless it's a pretty large room, 5 or 7 inch monitors are probably fine. If you are worried about "thump" then consider adding a sub. I use a set KRK Rokit 7 G4 for home playing and I'm happy with them. Think I twea

Recs for speakers

I had a pair of Rokit 5 G4 but there was not enough bass to satisfy me. Got a KRK S8 subwoofer to go with it but it was just a bit off, the sub was too powerful and the monitors were underpowered IMO. Got rid of them all in the end and settled on the Rokit 7 G5 and they are thumping. Would say I’m 9

For anyone on the fence about Fractal / modelers - read this

Hell yeah! I went from using a JVM half stack, lugging that bastard around the country for years playing shows, to a powered kemper and then finally an FM9. I've always used a poweramp (the kemper) with the FM9, and ran through a real cab but recently after hearing myself in a decent studio that had

KRK G4 studio monitors stopped powering on, capacitor replacement fix

I've had mine (G4 Rokit 7) for 3 years. I have never had even one problem with them. Then, one day one literally just completely gave out. I'm sure I could have fixed it. But, it was still under warranty. I sent it to KRK, and no questions asked, they upheld the warranty and sent me new G5 Rokit 7 s

Opinion on Edifier MR5

I’ll just say that the new G5 of Rokits are better and more neutral than they have ever been. Most people’s opinions on KRK’s you read on Reddit are from the earlier generations and they have come a long way with their newest generation. I have G5 KRK Rokit 7 and love them.

Yamaha HS8 with 8 years of use or a newer used KRK Rokit 7? I’m unsure which one to choose.

If you care about accuracy for mixing, go Yamaha HS8. They’re flatter and translate better. If you just want something more “fun” with extra low end and newer features, go KRK Rokit 7. 8 years isn’t a big deal if the HS8s weren’t abused. I’d personally pick HS8 for mixing.
