Kobo or kindle
Returning my Kobo Libra Colour after trying it out for a few hours. I really wanted to like this thing, with the physical buttons and the freedom to load up on DRM free EPUB format, but honestly, the screen brightness and clarity is so poor without the backlight compared to my 16 year old kindle. I

Kobo Libra Colour vs Kobo Clara BW/Colour vs PocketBook Era Color mainly for manga?
PocketBook InkPad 4 / Kobo Sage > PocketBook Era (or Era Lite if already available) / Kobo Libra 2 > PocketBook Era Color / Libra Colour > Kobo Clara BW / Verse b/w line > Verse Pro Colour / Kobo Clara Colour Why? Size matters, as is the b/w tech way better for manga (way better contrast and no scre

Recommendation for a first ereader.
Good PDF support, colour for comics and good experience = large and expensive. Can’t really get around that. Something in the 7’’ would be a compromise that does PDFs and comics within that budget (Kobo Libra Colour, Boox Go 7 Colour Gen II), but “good experience” would be very, very subjective. I w

Upgrade : PW 11th Gen -> Kobo Libra Color ?
the libra color screen has lower contrast than pw because of the color filter layer - text looks slightly grayer. software speed is similar to kindle for page turns but library navigation can stutter. if you read mostly novels, the color adds nothing and pw wins on sharpness. for comics or color cov

Are you team Kindle or Kobo?
Kindle. I bought a kobo libra colour and really wanted to love it. However there are a few things that makes kindle far superior in my eyes despite me wanting to love the kobo. Firstly, the ease of transferring books on my kindle. I can simply do it on my phone in two steps. It takes a lot longer on

I own a Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen and bought a Kobo Clara BW (review)
I think the Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen vs Kobo Libra 2 (BW) is a vastly more unfair comparison (on the Kobo’s side mind you) than the Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen vs Kobo Clara BW. For all of the points I’ve made, the Libra 2 would either be the exact same or worse just because it’s a previous generat

Ereader purchase
Curiosity and too much money. I had a Kindle 3 keyboard and changed to Kobo Libra Colour, so I wanted: no keyboard - now I have a pen and it's useless bigger screen - from 6 to 7 inches not a big difference though better screen resolution - I didn't notice it colour screen - it's a joke touch screen

Returning my Kobo Libra because I don’t like the graininess and low pixel count. What B/W ereader should I get instead?
I don’t like my Kobo Libra Colour either. It sits in my draw and is never touched. I love my kindle basic but it doesn’t have buttons and I know not everyone likes the Amazon ecosystem. I haven’t tried the others that have been mentioned.
