Keychron J2 HE. https://www.amazon.com/Keychron-Keyboard-Hot-Swappable-Ultra-Fast-Non-Shine-Through/dp/B0GD7FLJFF The cheapest QMK firmware magnetic board you can get. They have told me they will be releasing the source code.

So my keyboard died, again..
Get a Keychron J2 he. It's relatively inexpensive particularly for a Keychron, it's got a great layout, and it's got TMR sensors and qmk firmware.

General keyboard questions
There is no such thing as "qmk launcher". Qmk is a set of C programs that provide keyboard services to a keyboard. A qmk-based keyboard uses qmk firmware to do all the keyboard stuff. You configure a qmk keyboard through a web application... either VIA or VIAL. Keycron's keyboards are based on qmk f

Q1 Max is dogshit
And yet that software is state of the art and better than basically every proprietary alternative. For example, most proprietary boards only have two layers. Main and function. Some don't allow you independent programming of the function layer at all. A few add an alternate profile layer for main an

Has Anyone Gotten a V6 Max (or *ANY* Wireless Board) to Work with Something Like Signal RGB or OpenRGB?
It's only a different front end to QMK, and QMK has no native support for more than a basic set of canned modes. I haven't played around with them much, I'm not a real backlight fan, but I thought they had more than a couple of modes that supported custom hues. I have modified my Keychron J2 to supp

Brand new K2 HE not working
I missed your requirements about needing to fit into Keychron's QMK boards. That's the "terrible software..." bit. :( Yeh, I'm familiar with Sunder, not only is it super expensive, but it's also out of stock as is normal for limited run custom kit. There was someone in OLKB who was working on open s

Brand new K2 HE not working
I tried out the Glorious tactile magnetics at Microcenter and they were kind of only nominally tactile, which makes sense - a proper poppy tactile would make the whole variable actuation capability meaningless. I've been looking at the XVX Whisper rubber dome tactiles, but they're north-pole down an

Mod Tap Functionality
You need to use tap-dance, but that requires building new firmware with the tap-dance codes built in, and then entering the hex for the code using ANY. Theoretically you could convert it from VIA (Launcher) to VIAL but that's a bit fraught because the Keychron code base has changed a lot. It should

whats wrong with this keyboard
The Keychron Launcher is just a port of VIA with the keymaps for the Keychron keyboards built in so you don't have to install the JSON files. It also has prettier keyboard pictures, but it's functionally identical for everything that their regular QMK firmware supports. Launcher also has code for th
