Speakers that produce room filing sound that is enjoyable even off-axis
Quick short list (models I’d start with for “wide sweet spot”) If you want a tight, practical shortlist across price tiers: • Genelec 8351B / 8361A (active, reference-level coverage) • Revel M126Be or F226Be (passive, broad and consistent off-axis) • JBL HDI-1600 / HDI-3600 (waveguide + dynamic, wid

New speaker day
Your impressions of the KEF match mine. Comparing the R3 Meta to the Sourcepoint 8, the SP8 immediately proved to be superior in natural timbre, a richness to the midrange, and a little weight to the mid bass. I preferred it substantially, and the imaging between the two seemed comparable, so the KE

Denafrips Enyo 15th
I have different experience. I had Enyo 15th for a few days connected to Hegel H120 -> KEF R3 Meta and I was dissapointed. It was more smooth and had deeper soundstage but it sacrificed a lot of details and dynamic comparing to Hegel DAC. It was just boring. I do like much more Mojo 2 as a DAC which

Kef R Meta Home Theater
I have had a complete timbre matched Klipsch reference premiere 7.2.4 system. For my ears, timbre matching atmos speakers is not worth it. But if you want to spend $2.5k for the r3 meta for surrounds and $3.6k for 2 pairs of the kef r atmos speakers it’s your money and your system.

KEF R11 Meta - Don't Understand the Hype
I find the KEF R series to be good, but quite overhyped on the forums, usually because of their good measurements. They resolve to a point, and then you would have to go upstream, KEF or otherwise. I had the R3 Meta in house for a little, and they just couldn't hold their own against my (then) curre

Kef R3 vs Q7 Meta
R3 is more linear/flat but tends brighter in the top end. The Q7 Meta goes about 30hz lower and rolls off very smoothly. The Q7 Meta is also much more similar in sound to your Q6 Meta so I'd see that as a big plus. My preference would be the Q7s for home theater and blending with your center. They'd

Is R3 Meta the right choice?
Late to the party and giving my two cents FWIW and in case this helps anyone in the future. When I first bought the KEF R3 Metas paired with a PSB S10 subwoofer and NAD C 399 amp, and did the Dirac live room correction, I thought they sounded a bit thin for me. Sounded good, just thin. I then consul

Floor Standing Speaker Selection for "Extreme" Music Genres
I’m primarily metal guy too, so I absolutely needed proper clarity without being harsh. Big soundstage without smearing. Big fan of KEF r for this stuff. R3 meta would be hard to beat imo. Sounds natural. It won’t hide anything though.

New speaker day
Agreed. I listened to multiple KEF speakers (Q Concerto Meta; R3 Meta; R5 Meta; LS50 Meta); a couple of Paragigms; Monitor Audio Silver 100 7G; B&W), and these strike the right balance for me.

Amp recommendation for kef r3 meta (please read the details) is
What did you not like about the cinema 40 and kef r3 metas? I have the same setup and just bought the r3 metas and I'm finding them a little sharp, almost too accurate. I thought the cinema 40 would tame this but I'm now considering the Parasound A31 however I'm not really convinced the amp will mak
