Bedroom setup KEF LS50 Meta vs Wireless II

If youre okay w passives, that is generally a more versatile route for future upgrades or repairs. Kef software is reportedly iffy as well. I can vouch for wiim software and have the ls50 metas

Just Jumping In

No!! you would want at least a marantz model m1 for the kef ls50 meta, forget ls50 meta if you are set on getting the wiim amp ultra. Also, try to audition fyne audio f500SP before getting the kef if possible.

I heard (almost) every KEF Meta speaker in existence, here are 8 key findings

I started with Heresy IV’s and a good Yamaha amp. I moved to LS50 Metas and a KC62 on the same amp. Better. I upgraded my amp to an Hegel 390. Also worth it. The LS50M’s used every single watt. Then moved to a Kef reference one meta and was shocked at how much better it sounded. And finally ditched

KEF Demo Disappointment

The Cinema 70 probably isnt the best amp for KEFs tbh - need more power and higher current Beyond that, the ls50 metas I had were very position sensitive. So it honestly could have just been bad positioning. Alternatively - you don’t like KEF - can’t do much about that. Just don’t buy KEF if it’s no

Which system which would you choose.

Magico speakers are sealed-box speakers which are extremely difficult to drive. Stereophile's measurements of the A5 show it going below 4 ohms under 300Hz, and as low as 2.6 ohms at 93 Hz. Most amps can handle going down to 4 ohms fine, but they will not be equally capable going down to 2.5 ohms, a

LS50 Meta or Wireless II

For a give cabinet and drivers the active speakers give a greater range, more bass and lower cost than the passive version. LS50 Meta with an amp that is in total double the cost of the Kef LS50 II wireless is claimed to be better. Kef themselves claim that they could not make a passive version of t

Passive alternative for LSXII LT?

If you are an iPhone user you can install Google Chromecast and test also uPnP. I have run TuneBlade on my PC hoping for the low latency Airplay 2 gets via Apple 4K TV but no luck. uPnP, DLNA and Chromecasts sound better then Airplay 2. WiSA is even better and the speakers much improved using WiSA t

The nervous after my mixer

I've had my eye on the muzishare! Wife might kill me though, especially once I get tube rolling. Ive got kef Ls50 metas which are great for dj use but a bit hard to drive so Im not sure if it's a good match. I have got tube phono stages to impart the tube flavour and I still find the ls50 metas a bi

KEF purchase (or not)?

You're right. All KEF speakers need 4-ohm stable amplification, and any that rely solely on a single Uni-Q driver for full-range (Q150/Q1 Meta, Q350/Q3 Meta, LS50/LS50 Meta) for anything other than nearfield listening must be used with a subwoofer and high-passed to protect them from low frequencies

KEF overrated?

I like my kef ls50 metas but they do need a good amp and most importantly, a subwoofer to sound really good in opinion.
