Upgrading Advice Needed. Kef R3 Meta vs LS50WII vs LS60

I have R7Metas on Hypex Nilai 500 monoblocks and it's an amazing pairing, so I can absolutely vouch for the R3M on the Nilai stereo version. I also trust that KEF builds adequate power into anything that's self-amplified like the LS60 etc. That being said, I think adding a sub to your existing setup

Thoughts on LS60 vs R11?

I've owned the LS60s for the past ~8 months and highly recommend them. The LS60s can go lower (31hz at +-3db), while the R11 can get to 46hz. Means realistically you can use the LS60 without subs, while with the R11s you'll want to add a sub. The 8 force cancelling woofers on the LS60s are no joke!

Down sizing options?

If you have room for floor standers than the KEF LS60 might be a good option as they have more bass drivers than the LS50w.

Kef LS60 new owner - what sub/s to go with

The LS60 go down to ~30 Hz (+-3dB, anechoic), which means it covers most of the range of human hearing, since a room will typically extend the response. What you're missing isn't that, you're missing the ability to go loud enough for your use. Unfortunately for you, the LS60 isn't ideally suited for

LS50 Meta or Wireless II

For a give cabinet and drivers the active speakers give a greater range, more bass and lower cost than the passive version. LS50 Meta with an amp that is in total double the cost of the Kef LS50 II wireless is claimed to be better. Kef themselves claim that they could not make a passive version of t

R3 Meta vs Q11 vs Q950

And did you EQ them and room corrected them, properly with miniDSP or some other PEQ DAC or sound processor? I've built system on top of cheap 2xKEF Q1 and 2xKEF Q Concerto Meta with miniDSP for routing frequencies. And after room correction and EQ adjusting using UMIK - it measures better than my K

Thinking about upgrading my Q3 meta

OP - you can the COMPARE function at spinorama.org to put all of these speakers head to head in terms of measured performance and predicted in room response. if you do - you will see a slight improvement in linearity stepping from the Q3 to Concerto, and a significant improvement in bass extension b

Digital pre-amp with room correction

The LS60s are fantastic loudspeakers, and certainly the best sound we’ve heard in our room out of the box. It’s important to note however, that we do have a very difficult room with multiple bass modes. We also have the KC62 sub placed in an optimal position. The Lyngdorf has quite frankly transform

LS60 easy to knock over?

Hi! I actually run all my music through Roon - mostly a local library comprising my ripped CDs and some digital downloads with Tidal integrated for streaming. The LS60 is Roon enabled, so connects and works seamlessly For the measurements I just used the HomeCurve App on my iPhone 17pm against a Har

Paired to LS60 2 x kc62 vs 1 x kf92 vs 2 x kf92

Oh, definitely a sub. Or two. LS60 simply can’t go that low on their own. Even the popular YouTuber Darko from Darko Audio, who recently declared them to be his dream “retirement system”, shared that, as brilliant as tgey are, they simply don’t go as low as KEF claims, not even in his acoustically t
