KC62 vs. LS50W2

I was personally pretty impressed with the REN, though Kanto doesn't specify they are a "bookshelf" speaker, rather a soundbar replacement. Mid tier setup help needed for my small apartment

My picks would be KEF LSX II LT or Kanto REN. Can find the KEF used on ebay or fb marketplace under $600 and the REN is $500 new on amazon right now. Both are active speakers with HDMI so it will be a simple setup.
