Most reliable brands - just starting my search

Beyond major OEMs, the majority of these Chi-NUC brands haven't been in the NUC/mPC manufacturering long enough to provide a long-term reputation. A couple of years ago, Acemagic, Beelink & Minisforum were the preferred brands. In 2025, AooStar, Beelink & GMKtec have become more popular. Beelink cur

I heard a lot of mini pcs are shipped with bloatwares or malwares, is this true?

Kamrui, Acemagic and Acemagician were caught shipping with malware. If you come across those brands best to buy barebones and use your own, seperately acquired, drive/os. In truth, so many miniPC brands exist that you could really just ignore those names (it’s really one brand).

KAMRUI Hyper H1 Mini Gaming PC - Doom 3, Dead Island, Far Cry 1-3?

When compared to Beelink, Geekom, GMKtec, MiniPC Union brands manufacturered by CYX akin to Acemagic, Acemagician, Kamrui, NiPoGi, etc, recently haven't been known for build quality, reliability & customer service. The Hyper H1 itself is derived from a much older CYX platform, showing some age. You'

How realistic are the reports of rapid failure, spyware, etc...?

Here's the perspective of Chi-NUC brands from more than 4 decades of PC repair. Understand that these are PCs which do not have registration requirements for warranty or regional centers for repair. Their primarily in the category of consumer electronics one purchases off the shelf from a local reta

Best (brand/model) Ryzen 5XXX constantly below $250?

Products manufactured by CYX understand the MiniPC Union umbrella (Acemagic, Acemagician, Kamrui, NiPoGi, etc) have questionable build quality & customer service over the last couple years, noticeably once they switched from Cezanne/Barceló to the much cheaper Zen 2 Lucienne. Something that became e

Talk me out of an M4 Mac Mini

The Windows install included with some very low end Mini PCs sometimes isn't even legit; I wouldn't stress yourself about whether you're paying an implied extra fee due to the license. As you said they are very different things. Mac mini is a great box for specific things, and if you like MacOS it i

Is AceMagic Safe?

https://www.reddit.com/r/MiniPCs/comments/1nm28ji/comment/nfb3g43/ After having numerous CYX manufactured mPCs (Acemagic, Acemagician, Kamrui, NiPoGi, etc) across the diagnostics bench, I'm more concerned about quality control, component sourcing & longevity then malware.

Is there a cheapish mini PC that supports 3x 4K monitors?

As stated before, CYX manufactured mPCs (Acemagic, Acemagician, Kamrui, NiPoGi, etc) aren't necessarily known for build quality, durability & customer service in recent years. For the best results, one would look for HDMI 2.1 4K60Hz/12.56Gbit/s bandwidth support for a mPC. 5120x1440@60Hz 32:9 DQHD "
