Genelec 8030A vs Kali Audio in 5 for mixing in my room
The reality is you won’t know til you listen to them in your room. Genelec have one of the best pedigrees out there, so I’m sure they’ll be great. Kali is newer but also quite excellent. I haven’t heard the IN5 but I use the LP6 v2 and absolutely love them, best value at their price IMO. I’m sure yo

Best Studio Monitors for Home DJ Studio
Kali is kinda dominating the budget monitor market for price-performance. All their monitors are decent but their coaxial designs sound incredible. The Kali in-5 or in-8 is what I’d look at. I have the in-5s for my DJ studio and the vocals sound amazing

New Monitor Speakers
I really like my Kali Audio monitors. Very good value across their lines. For $900, you can get a new pair of IN-5, or for $1000, a pair of IN-8s, which are great three way speakers. You might try those and if you find the bass lacking, add a sub. Or for $600, you could do their LP-8.

Tempted to go from Dynaudio Lyd-7 to Kali IN8V2 monitors. Anyone to share their experience?
I do mix professionally in a very very small treated room with the IN 5, found out my mixes translated way better mixing with a pair of speakers with smaller woofer. I can't get a very clear response from low end as I would do with the IN 8s for example, but that's a price I am happily paying for re

TIL about Peter Belt, a British audiophile who sold unusual items that supposedly improved sound quality of hi-fi equipment, such as a £15 paper clip with paranormal properties. He also promoted various ideas to improve sound quality, such as freezing compact discs and only using white cables.
Genelec was literally just one example. My point is that there have been some breakout brands, like Kali Audio, that make insanely good speakers for the price. The IN-5 and IN-8s for example have a plethora of reviewers saying they prefer them over $1000 or even $2000 speakers.

Genelec 8030A vs Kali Audio in 5 for mixing in my room
Spinorama for Genelec 8030A Spinorama for Kali In-5 Trust your ears if you can hear both, they’re both great but I give a slight edge to Genelec. If you’re factoring cost, Kali is the winner.

Genelec 8030A vs Kali Audio in 5 for mixing in my room
Comparing the IN5s with the Genelecs is unfair, because a single genelec is almost twice the price of the IN5s. Still, if it's you first pair I would go for the IN5s and invest the rest of the budget on acoustic treatment if you haven't done so already. The IN5s are well balanced and are good purpos

Kali In-5 Vs Neumann KH80
KH80 is smaller and more expensive, but tonally very balanced for the size. IN5 is closer in size to the much more expensive KH120, but is a three way. You will get more speaker with less cost (and less pedigree) with the Kali. If I was choosing, I'd get IN5. If you can, listen for yourself in perso

Beginner Home Studio Equipment and Treatment
Imo the listening environment is #1. You can record with a potato, but it’s of no use if you can’t hear properly what you’re doing. Acoustics consists of the sound dampening solutions and listener and speaker positioning. They can make an absolutely massive difference, much bigger than your gear sel
