Kali IN-5 vs Kali IN-8 in small room
From my experience, larger speakers always sound better. While the Kali IN5 and IN8 have similar low‑frequency extension on paper, the IN8 has significantly lower distortion. I’ve never bought into the idea that you have to match speaker size to room size — I’d always go bigger without hesitation. T

Seeking Speaker Recommendations for "Near Field" Listening [USA, New, $1000-$1500]
For near field desktop listening, I’d look at the Kali unf and in-unf. If you’ve got the space, maybe the in-5. I use the in series for music production. If you’re used to the hd6xx, I think you’ll enjoy the studio monitor experience. Ditch the amp, but you can still use the dac and pre.

So is it better to use a pre amp for this set up?
From my experience you have to spend a lot of money on passive speakers and amp to get what can be achieved with good monitors. Kali in5s or maybe Adam audios with a sub will be better for dj use as they're designed for near field use.

Sanity check: should I buy the Kali Audio IN-5 monitors?
I own Kali LP-8s, and the IN-5s are absolutely in my future. I think it's a great buy for my situation - maybe for yours, too: Kali came to the market to compete with the big dogs, and punches above their weight. While they started on the affordable side, they've done well and are already making spe

Recommend me speakers with good bass without subwoofer
I feel you on wanting good bass without a sub. For your desk size and budget, the Kali Audio IN-5 actually has surprising low-end extension for a studio monitor. I've found they handle movie soundtracks really well. Another option that might work is the Audioengine A5+ - they're designed for near-fi

Question about budget-friendly speakers for Dolby Atmos Home Studio setup
I recommend configuring a 7.1.4 immersive monitoring system using the Genelec monitors for the LCR channels, complemented by Kali IN-5 (2nd wave) monitors for surround and height channels, and Kali LF-12 subwoofers for LFE. The Oria monitor controller, paired with its included measurement microphone
