Stick with Roomba 705 Max (Vac only) or switch to 4020 Combo?
I have a 705 max, and I had the same thoughts. I have trust issues and I don't want a robot leaking water all over the place. I had a J9 and it was so terrible it wrecked my trust in these things. I bought the 705 max on sale and it is 5000x better. When it comes to a robot running around the house

Roomba Combo 705 Max
It may have internal lidar. I doubt they are sticking with vslam after all the complaints. This and the standard 705 are meant to be their last in house designed robot vacuums. I hope this is great because I dont want irobot to die, I also hope they can fix the known issues with the 405/505.

max 10 combo vs 705 combo
Max 10 Combo kept running over pet mess, getting stuck on a mat, mopped very poorly (left water streaks everywhere), and ultimately stopped docking. It would just sit right in front of the docking station and if I put it back in, it would come out on it's own and sit there until the battery died. I

PSA for Litter-Robot LitterTrap Mat
Ours is an ancient Roomba i7+, but I just replaced it with the newer Roomba 705 combo and neither have had issues with it. They aren't exactly the bleeding edge of available robot vacuum tech so I figured most of the newer/more advanced robots would probably fair as well or better.
