Screw it, I’m installing Linux
I recently put Ubuntu on my 2016 HP Spectre. It kinda annoyed me that I wouldn't be able to upgrade to Windows 11 and would instead have a 4k touchscreen decent graphics card laptop at risk. So I repurposed it and it's been fantastic. I have a separate gaming PC but this is perfect for small coding

What’s the best laptop for college in 2025 if you don’t want it to die in 2 years?
Absolutely not a MacBook. I ended up needing Windows programs (including Microsoft Access) a lot throughout college and have an HP Spectre that I purchased 6 years ago. I’ve been out of college a few years and it’s still working great.

8-10 years out of a laptop is still quite incredible. My HP spectre x360 had a screen failure within a year, warrantied, same screen failure within a year. Within 2 years it’s slow and sluggish.

Dell managed to acknowledge their error in abandoning XPS, with a comeback. When will HP do the same with the Spectre x360 line?
I've owned about 5 spectre x360s over the last 10 years...I have zero interest in buying and omnibook, they have no soul ha ha bring back the spectre x360!

Es gibt bei manchen Laptops durch auch andere Layouts, wie zum Beispiel bei diesem HP Spectre x360. Der hat ein QWERTZ-Layout, auch mit ä, ö, ü, aber eine ANSI Shift- und Enter-Taste.
