Yea not uncommon unfortunately I remember a similar controversy might have been Hotspot shield was it? It was the top free VPN at the time people were using it for Netflix and what not while it was quietly highjacking peoples connections for god knows what.

Sometimes switching from mobile data to wifi or wifi to mobile helps. Sometimes using a VPN helps (hotspot shield/psiphon are well working free vpns).

Yes I hotspot from my phone often. A VPN app might be needed to get around any adult content filter you have on your account / contract with your network provider. I use Surfshark but you can use these free options from the app store which work fine - Hotspot Shield or ProtonVPN. Otherwise it works

Discord won't even start up now.
Yes, my VPN "Hotspot Shield" Was causing a conflict. Simply turning off my VPN, starting Discord, and then restarting my VPN fixed it. I even used some programming knowledge of mine to make a little program that automates it lol.

"kaspersky plus" is not covering "unlimited vpn"
Kaspersky just changed VPN providers they were using Hotspot shield VPN Servers but I guess their contract with Hotspot ended.... They have signed a new contract with PureVPN and are currently RE-Developing the software .... That means you have to download the newest latest version from the Kaspersk

Travelling to China in 3 days - what VPNs currently work?
I have hotspot shield (paid) and it's recently stopped working well. In the mean time i downloaded Proton VPN and the free version works perfectly. I'm very surprised but hopefully it carries on working
