Yea not uncommon unfortunately I remember a similar controversy might have been Hotspot shield was it? It was the top free VPN at the time people were using it for Netflix and what not while it was quietly highjacking peoples connections for god knows what.

If you could only keep FIVE apps on your phone, which ones would survive?
They keep having data breaches after data breaches. And keep exposing user data. There are many better (And cheaper) services available. You shouldn't use LastPass even if it was give to you for free. I can recommend some really good alternatives: Bitwarden : Open source | Top notch security | 20$/y

Refund incoming! The CEO stated they would refund people and is sticking true to this. Highly suggest people do the same and move away from an organisation owned by a POS
