HHKB Studio vs Type-s

They are two completely different boards, the HHKB Studio is MX Switches and the Type-S is dome switches. The Studio is basically like any other MX keyboard on the market with some variations. If you want the real HHKB feel you would get the Type-S.

Offline Manual for the "HHKB Studio" Keyboard

I didn't like that the manual for the Studio keyboard by HHKB is only available as a website. The website could go down for any number of reasons, so it would be nice to have an entirely offline version. The website is split across many different pages, so it's not as simple as just downloading a si

Offline Manual for the "HHKB Studio" Keyboard

Gitlab may go down, but you can clone the repo and run the program and then you'll have a permanent offline copy. There is no PDF manual to download for the HHKB studio. The manual is a set of 44 HTML pages that link to eachother, hence the need for a crawler to automatically download them all. My p

I have a problem.

The classic and hybrid are good. My hybrid type S still has it's daily driver carrying case. But I'm not convinced I'd ever want a studio. I'm not sure what I'm really getting for the price. I was never a fan since its debut. For that price you can get a Tex Yoda or Tex Yoda II, which is a much more

Is the HHKB studio worth it?

Just a personal opinion so take it with grain of salt please: Worth it? Absolutely NO. Below is the reason: Overpriced: you can get way more premium build board with same prices Do not support VIA or similar keyboard mappings, you stuck with the official one which is less features than VIA It use sp

First HHKB. Just want to gush about this board a little bit.

Fair, I imagine there is an argument for the price of a topre hhkb as I believe they require some kind of expensive licensing/processing, but for a standard mechanical the studio is pretty crazy for the price.

First time buyer (Pro Hybrid Type-S vs Studio)

For a first time board? Go for the Topre. If you’ve had your long share of Topre experience then sure go for the studio. I’d be lying by omission if i didn’t tell you you’d be missing out if you went to Studio first. I still think HHKB needs to make a topre board with the nipple mouse lol (split sta

Designing my own HHKB w/ trackball.

Great idea! I love that the trackball is on the left. One thing I would change is the bezel width between the spacebar and user-facing edge of the keyboard. One thing I really like about the original HHKB (not the Studio) is just how little frame there is in that area, which makes it a lot easier to

Is the HHKB studio worth it?

No I never use it. I also now use Q60max (hhkb mechanical switch layout from keychron) I thought studio would be perfect for me and my use case. I have 3 computers in the room and switch from them often so a baked in Bluetooth switcher and a mouse would be perfect. I didn't like the case, the height

Framework keyboard | FIXED

TEX keyboards such as the Shinobi are probably a better choice anyway besides being cheaper, as the HHKB Studio is the weird non-Topre black sheep of the lineup. That said, if the Studio had Topre, the premium may have been worth it.
