Resin printing "arms race" over?
Same as before. Expect 12 months between cycles. This year was odd, printers got released on a shorter cycle. The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K was probably supposed to be the Saturn 5, but Elegoo released it early (only 7-8 months after the Saturn 4/4 Ultra). Probably because Uniformation was releasing the 16

Looking to replace my current printers. Need input from professionals
Yeah Anycubic long term support is ass. I own an M3 Premium and they ended support for them almost 2 years ago, yet I can still order parts (other than LCDs) for my Saturn 2s from Elegoo... which are the same age as the M3 Premium. Heygears is supposed to open up some of their settings later this ye

Is the HeyGears RS worth the price difference over the Saturn 4 ultra 16k
I’ve got all 3, the Saturn 4 Ultra is kinda wonky because of the tilt vat, especially if you’re using flexy resins. The 3 Ultra is a workhorse, and the Heygears is pretty awesome. I use the PAF10 resin, it’s like 37 a kilo and the refill system works nicely. I don’t use the heated vat since I’m in a

Saturn 4 Ultra 16k vs Mars 5 Ultra vs Heygears RS
I have both S4U16k and Heygears RS Turbo. I would say the technology inside HS is much better: real auto build plate leveling, better sensors enable features like peeling force monitoring. Overall it is a much more reliable machine. S4U16K is cheaper but it is by no means simple machine, the tilt va

how reputable are elegoo printers?
Among the consumer <$1k (USD) printers Elegoo is the most consistent by a wide margin. Anycubic is a bit of a distant second with a higher rate of dropped balls and self-inflicted failures. Phrozen and Uniformation have significant consistency issues and QA problems not commensurate with their premi

Suggestions for next printer?
If the Saturn 3 (non-Ultra) is available to you, it's the best bang for your buck and last of the non auto-leveling printers worth buying. Usually less than $270. Heygears is running a sale on the Reflex RS for $499, which is the lowest that printer has ever been. It's probably the only auto-levelin

Printer recommendations on 2026?
See if the Heygears Reflex RS Turbo with the heated VAT fits your budget. It's a lot better than Uniform or Elegoo printers. There is a good sale on now, they just opened up to third party resins (could always use them but not adjust exposure settings or anything) Might be a little more but absolute

Printer recommendations on 2026?
Heygears have a confusing naming scheme but to put it simply: The Reflex line is better for engineering and is compatible with more of the engineering resins. The Reflex RS line is more for miniatures and hobby stuff. Uses standard resins and is not compatible with the more expensive engineering res

Until Elegoo addresses its defective manufacturing, I won't be buying another printer from them
Heygears Reflex RS seems to be well built. If you go back in time, the Anycubic M3 Premium is probably one of the best built consumer printers ever made. Too bad Anycubic doesn’t support them with parts anymore. I have one I got used and I’m waiting for the day when ORA has their firmware fleshed ou

Looking for a dimensionally accurate resin printer (sub-$1,000)
Dont hesitate on Heygears. People love to try to hate them for their semi closed ecosystem but the reality is that their tech is quite far ahead of any other hobby grade printers out there. This person stated that resin is the only driver of tight accuracy and that is not true. They shouldn't be tel
