What’s something that cost over $1,000 but felt totally worth it after you bought it?

When my back was killing I was going to spend a fortune on a mattress. Then someone asked me how many hours did I spend sleeping versus working. I was working 10-14 hour days and sleeping only 6 max. I bought the chair and the difference was noticeable after 2 days. I still have the Herman Miller Ae

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?

When my previous job closed the office and shifted everybody fully remote they let some of us take chairs so I got a free Herman Miller Aeron chair which retails for $2k. It has been life changing for my back.

Ok, at my age I have a list of items I won’t skimp on at this point. What are yours?

If you work a lot from a computer, get a very good desk chair. I've used a Herman-Miller Aeron for the better part of 20 years and it has saved my back. One of the best purchases I ever made. Get a membership at a good gym with an experienced trainer. Not one of those roided-up gymbros but someone w

The “Just Expensive Enough” List: My Top Products That Punch Above Their Price (Need Your Recs Too)

Aeron office chair by Herman-Miller. I bought mine 12 years ago when I started working from home more, and it's been my full-time WFH chair since March of 2020. It literally saved my back from 10 hours of sitting per day. It's built like a tank, looks great, and is worth every penny.

Milyen 50 ezer forint alatti vásárlásotoknak lett tartósan pozitív hatása az életetekre?

A széjjel mémelt Herman Miller (Aeron), legalábbis programozó körökben. Igazából nehéz megfogalmazni, hogy mit tud. Nagyon állítható, és egyszerűen kényelmes. Gerincsérvvel a napi 8-10 óra sem árt meg.

What gift should I get my little brother when he gets into medical school?

Chair! Good idea. It’s really challenging bc he has a Herman Miller Aeron and I think the only clear upgrade is the Embody but I tried it and it poked my spine terribly. I own a Steelcase gesture but I’m not sure if most would consider that an upgrade from the Aeron but I love it. Source: I like cha

What did you think was pretentious, until you tried it and realized it was worth it?

I have used a Herman Miller Aeron at a previous company, it was very nice, though I never kinda "researched" it at the time. I needed a new chair for my home office a few years ago due to back pain, and realized that my desk chair at work was comfortable for my situation. Turns out it's a Steelcase

Don't neglect lumbar support! Story time... Back in 2020, I started WFH full time. Got myself a nice new Herman Miller Aeron. It came with a lumbar support, but I generally hated it (as I do in most chairs) because of the pressure it put on my lower back. It irritated my skin a bit and I just didn't

How do you deal with the toll this takes on your body?

I had a Herman Miller Aeron for awhile and had a hunch it was making things worse. Leg pain, back pain. Finally said screw it and tried a Steelcase Gesture and oh my god it was like night and day. Maybe try to switch it up. You have the cash and there is no better investment than in things between y

Langweili
