Forget the Google crap. It’s garbage. Take that $300 and put it towards a UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra, a Lite 8 PoE switch, and a U6+ AP. You’ll only spend just a little more than the Nest WiFi Pro, and it’s a system that you’ll actually be pleased with. Bonus, you’ll have room for expansion later - j

For those not interested in a wall of text. TL;DR:After years of unreliable performance with smart home devices—including disconnecting speaker groups, Nest cameras dropping, and general network instability—you replaced your Nighthawk + extender setup with Nest WiFi Pro, only for it to get even wors

I still use the 1st gen Google Mesh Wifi and it works great. I'd like the newest 6e version for access to higher speed, but they still work great. If you are in fact using wifi 6, then you have the newest 3rd generation Nest Wifi Pro. It's not the one with the Google home speakers built in, right?

So after almost 6 months of dealing with having to restart the network when it would drop to 10Mbs, when it should be getting 400Mbs. I opened one up and looked at where I could drill vent holes, made a masking tape template and then drilled all 6 of my units. The outcome.... 2 weeks without having

Maybe I lucked out, my Google Nest WiFi Pro has been fine for nearly 2 years. Wired to a switch that routes to all of the Ethernet ports in the house. I only use 1 AP, Ethernet on the furthest ends of the house with weak signal.

And note for OP: ISP can’t do much when your walls are blocking your signals, they could propose a wireless mesh but the speed results wouldn’t be too different since this problem is with the physical attributes of your house. Try to see if you can run physical Ethernet cable with your baseboard and

I'm phasing out all of my Google products because of Nest WiFi Pro. 50 feet away with line of sight, the mesh just goes slower and slower on and off constantly, reset after reset, I'm DONE. I can't wait to replace everything with non google products.

The router you have is 802.11ac, or WiFi 5. What you're seeing is pretty typical for a router like yours, given its internal antenna and the walls in between. The 1300 Mbps number is an overall theoretical, not a per-device speed, so your PC is completing on that pipe with all other WiFi devices in

I’ve been using the Wi-Fi Pro (6-pack) in my house for about two years and have never had any issues. Before that, I used the 2018 Nest WiFi (3-pack). Over the years, I’ve had a reliable experience with it. I’m sure there are better options out there, but Google WiFi Pro works well for me. No dead s
