NVDA is over, how I'm making $127K off it's death
I left Nest for the same reason. Everything worked well, but I saw how Google was planning to kill Nest. They have Google Home branded products now, but I don’t trust them to not somehow kill the product line or service. That’d be such a headache for smart devices installed onto a wall, like floodli

Outdoor Camera with Google Home Live View Support?
I've got the Google Floodlight camera and have had no issues with it for a number of years. I've got the standard Nest Camera inside my house but it is technically an indoor/outdoor camera and again, no issues with it. Both also would obviously have no compatibility issues since they're Google produ

Trying to ditch nest cameras, but need the doorbell first
I made the same decision recenrly. Sold my two nest outdoor cams and a nest thermostat and purchased NVR Instant and G6 Entry. All up and running but not as simple as I would have liked. I miss the doorbell showing up on the nest hubs but, via home assistant and unifi integration, have kind of made

Having an extreme issue with false positives pleas help!!!!
So prior to getting my G5 Aqara camera I had a Google nest floodlight put into HomeKit and that’s was never an issue. HomeKit never gave me the false positives. Like I said before, I’m not getting these notification in the Aqara app. So why now. Why HomeKit triggering. Like even if a car drives up t

What sort of doorbell camera, or other surveillance, do you recommend?
We have a Google doorbell & for all it was quite expensive (I think somewhere between £200-300) I'd be lost without it. Battery lasts for about 6 weeks+ and it never fails to log alerts. We also have a Google/Nest smart home so it integrates really well with all the speakers and hubs. We've even wir

Nest Cam with floodlight (wired)
The drawback is the narrow angle the camera captures compared to Ring. But I love Nest and hate Ring, so what do I do? I’d put up a 3rd gen doorbell with a basic motion detector light!

Nest Cam with floodlight (wired)
I have one for my driveway and I love it. I have had it for 5 years now. With absolutely ZERO issues. Auto light or full time at night, it records everything, easy to retrieve footage. Don't listen to all the garbage about it being a "dying ecosystem"... Everyone is a critic, but as a long-term Nest

trying to find honest info on the best home security systems to get in 2026, moved to a new neighborhood and need to think about security
We use ADT, but not a third party. Direct with the company. It's a bit pricier than a third party but the install was excellent, everything is monitored, and I have four floodlight cameras + one driveway cam + doorbell cam. Our home feels like a comfy fortress. They use a lot of Google Nest tech, wh

Tips for basic smart home
Probably going to get flamed by the real enthusiasts, but I just use Google Home. I have 2 Nest floodlight cameras covering my garage and deck and a Nest doorbell camera for the front as well as a Nest/Yale electronic lock. It all plays well with the home app (but sometimes less so TBH). I have a co
