Travel router PSA - OpenVPN is not available on launch
Yep. I have 2 of the smaller Slate's, then they went to the larger Slate AX which I have 4 of (I use for event work). I wish they weren't as big, but I love how they perform in multiple environments. Interested in what Ubiquiti is doing here, but would take a lot to pull me away from the GL.iNet pro

Beryl AX + Switch vs Slate AX (2 Ethernet Ports)
If your network is relatively simple ie you're not running any VLANs and you are simply wanting to expand the Beryl AX to have more ethernet ports, then a simple unmanaged switch like the Netgear GS305 you suggested will be fine. That's the cheap and easy option. Perhaps I can throw a spanner in the

best travel router for Airbnb stays with captive portal wifi?
GL.iNet IMO has the best travel routers. I started with a GL-AR750S-Ext and now GL-AXT1800. Never leave home without it. Posting this on my flight from my secondary device that did not pay for the Wi-Fi
I have this, a Beryl AX, Slate AX, and a few other devices that I am under NDA about. The Ubiquiti router doesn't have the features of the GL.iNet devices, can be powered by power banks, and are not much bigger - the size of a deck of cards. Further, they have the ability to setup VPNs, AdGuard, and

Slate Plus while traveling
For years I carried an Original Slate (AR750S) around the world, but this year I switched to something smaller. I find that the newer GL iNet routers, like the Beryl AX, Slate Plus, Slate AX, and especially the Slate 7 are just too big and heavy to use as travel routers. I still use a couple AR300M
