Mobile Hotspots?!

Right now the best option is the GL iNet GL-XE3000 "Puli AX". The big win for this unit is the battery and the multiple WAN ports with a built in load balancer. Plus you can run both external and internal antennas for the LAN and WAN.

That's just genuinely painful 8mbps AV1 720p59.94 (or 50p) is sort of trending as the minimum standard now for LiveU stuff on YT because it's a really easily targetable bracket. But don't even scratch the broadcast cable network quality until you get to 45mbps HEVC on YT on tight 1080p encoding. I j

x750v2 vs x3000: can 5G bands increase coverage away from cities?

For the campervan use case, ofc the Puli AX is totally fine. Don't get me wrong. I really, really, really like GL-Inet as well. Solid UI and UX for doing "expert"-ish networking stuff without being a network expert at all. However, I'm surprised - maybe even disappointed - that GL-iNet still hasn't

Unifi 5G Max is awesome

I’m on the business plan, not the home plan. Business plan SIMs work on any modem. I have a U5G coming next week but right now I’m on a Puli AX. From what I remember Home Internet SIMs are IMEI locked and require spoofing your assigned modem’s IMEI on any third party modem. On GL.iNet this is trivia

MiFi or Phone hotspot? Or is there a decent hybrid device?

Set your iPhone to an 80% charge limit and you won't be destroying your battery health. Or look at GL.iNet's Puli AX which can last a stated 6 to 8 hours with many people reporting as long as 11 hours. If you need more battery life you can buy a USB to 9v barrel jack adapter and power it from a powe

5G router for travel and office?

GL.iNet Spitz AX (or Puli AX if you want a battery). Amazing performance. I’ve had up to 1.4Gbps over 5G. They sell a “physical eSIM” card separately but cheaply. It allows you to use an eSIM QR code.

Best mobile internet solution for low-signal hospital environment? Need reliable connection for work

At least in hospitals I have installed contractor systems, most IT departments can setup access on their network for you, without compromising security or allowing your VPN over their guest WiFi system. The upside of using a stand alone hotpot like a GL.iNet Puli AX (GL-XE3000) | Wi-Fi 6 5G Cellular

Want to switch to a 5G homebox. Looking for suggestions and advice

GL.iNet has some good products. I ran their 4g version for 2+ years as my primary. Had to do some hacky stuff to disguise it but it worked. Three things: I had a retired Apple phone and changed the IMEI on the device to appear as an iPhone. Second was modifying the firewall to adjust the TTL values,
