Mini PCs worth it? Anyone here been using one and can recommend a good model?
Not as good for photoshop as the OP mentioned in use case #1. Geekom IT15 Ultra 5 225H has a more powerful CPU in general. https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-compare/intel-core-ultra-5-225h-vs-amd-ryzen-7-8745hs

Beelink, GMKtec, Geekom, Bosgame, Origimagic, Minisforum, which brand has the best quality?
Ive reviewed multiple different ones, made some content for Geekom and they are really good quality machines with some pretty respectable specifications across the board. The designs are pretty simple aesthetically but they function well! They are however a little more expensive than some of the com

has anyone had good/bad experience with GEEKOM mini PC’s?

Intel N97 (GMKTec Mini PC) for multiple tabs (browser-heavy work), long generative AI workload and basic image editing, will it be enough?
For my main PC I recently got a Geekom It15 with an Ultra 9 285H which runs like a dream, but was pricey at $950. My colleague bought an Acemagic i9 11900H with 32GB/1TB for $379 and he codes a lot using Claude and it runs it beautifully. It's a little larger than my machine but definitely is no slo

Windows Mini PC Suggestion!!
I’d rec GEEKOM. I’ve been using the GEEKOM IT15 (U9-285H) and it’s been rock-solid. It runs efficiently 24/7 and doesn’t throttle even during long coding sessions. I keep the mini PC in my living room, but even when I’m working from my bedroom, the WiFi connection stays strong and stable, no lag or

What are the actual downsides of using a modern Macbook?
I agree regarding laptop hardware in favor of Macbooks. However, the M4 Mac Mini has lots of good competition if you spec it up to 24 GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. That puts the price at $1,000 USD. Beelink SER9, Asus NUC 15 Pro, and Geekom IT15 are all very competitive at the same price point.

ASUS NUC 14 Pro - Any good for running Lightroom or Photoshop?
You can, but it isn't as good as the models listed below due to a step back in single-core performance. Better options: M4 Mac Mini. Storage limitations and no SD card port, but external storage is cheap and helpful. It has the industry leading single core CPU performance; which massively helps proc
