Best watch for running without your phone?

Garmin >>> Pixel. No debate. Since you run early in the morning and in mountain lion territory, Garmin’s features like incident detection, live tracking, and the ability to send your location to emergency contacts are perfect for ensuring your safety. Some Garmin watches that meet your needs are the

What’s a brand you’ll never trust again and why?

I've had my Garmin Instinct 2 for about a year now. It's almost comical how much more data I get from my swims compared to the Fitbit Charge 5 I had. Fitbit basically had like duration and extrapolated number of laps from motion. That was it. It was also wrong on even that one metric more often than

[Question] What is today's equivalent to a Rolex from the 50s?

Garmin Instinct 2s solar. Designed for functionality, dead reliable, useable under any circumstances. It is what actual explorers use nowadays. Eta: just saw the quartz criterion. That eliminates any actually relevant watches.

Is there a "best " Fitbit for swimming?

I would agree with the other post, if you want to get into tris, garmin is your best bet. The cool thing is, while the top of the line models are expensive, a couple of generations older are still awesome. My recommendation would be for a Fenix 7. Running about $450 on amazon new. https://amzn.to/49

[Recommendations] Looking for a durable and reliable adventure watch - any recommendations?

Rugged watches like Garmin and G-Shock are perfect for your needs, imo. You can look at the Fenix 7X, Instinct 2, and the classic GWM5610-1. You can also check out solar quartz watches from Seiko (Prospex) and Citizen (Eco-Drive).

What watch to get a merchant marine engineer?

I’ve worn the instinct 2 in the engine room for the past couple years. Holds up great to diesel, lubo, getting knocked around, dust, water, sewage, paint, and all the other fun stuff we deal with. Battery life is fantastic, the solar version is definitely unnecessary. The only thing is that the garm

One product that has made the most impact in your life since diagnosis

Apple Watch was amazing for me, too. But, then I broke one (screen came off during yard work) and I could never keep it charged. I went through 6 fitbits and 2 apple watches in 7 years. For other women like me, who need something more durable and with a longer battery life, the Garmin Instinct 2 has

[recommendations] for a firefighter

I was on a tech rescue team for a while so I would try and take my mechanical watches off and throw them in one of my boots before I used power tools or anything like that. Guys who were on the FEMA team swore by their Garmins. I actually use an Instinct 2 while backpacking. My G-Shock DW 6900 was g

The second hand doesn’t turn off until it passes 35 seconds.

It’s very strange that they suddenly changed the timeout for the second hand on the older Instinct 2.I’ve seen many people say their battery drain suddenly got worse in 17.07. And the number 35 is very odd — not 20, not 30, but 35 — and it’s far too long.Garmin clearly messed with something and is r

Garmin users are getting screwed, and most don’t even realize it

You all will probably chase me out of here for this but….i started my journey with an Instinct2. Still love it to this day. I needed maps and not just breadcrumb but simply couldn’t afford another garmin, so I went coros. I haven’t updated it at all as many users keep complaining that they have x or
