Tried apple watch and whoop for a month

I tried wearing an apple series 11 and a Garmin forerunner 965 together for a few days and these are my takeaways from it; Battery life: this doesn’t really warrant a comment here. I have to charge the AW daily and the 965 is 23 days Heart rate tracking: Almost identical. I checked during sleep duri

Suunto Vertical a disappointment

I've used a Garmin for years. The last model was the forerunner 965 and the optical heart rate sensor did not work well. Almost unusable. I had to use a chest strap. I was not satisfied with the build quality of the watch and the strap. The belt was deteriorating rapidly. The watch quickly collected

power meter: heart rate monitor yes/no?

For me a strap is more comfortable, especially indoors. The data is also better, if you care. When I compared my Forerunner 965 to my Polar H10, the watch was a couple BPM lower and showed a slower HR response. The straps are EKG based so as soon as that electrical impulse is generated, the strap ba

I think my adderall was making me sicker

Garmin Forerunner 965. Which is way overkill for measuring sleep, but I bought it for myself after my 6 months of acute illness were over and I thought I'd be able to start running again. The Vivoactive or something similar would probably be good enough for these metrics.

Polar Vantage V3 owners: wait for V4 or buy V3 now?

I had the FR965, but I decided to go for the Vantage V3. When it comes to training load, Polar performs much better than Garmin because Garmin underestimates training in lower heart rate zones, so in order to achieve productive status, I often ended up overtraining. In my opinion, Polar also perform

“Coming soon: The same best-in class performance, with a new look and feel.”

I bought it for the extra battery and the titanium bezel as I’m planning to run on longer distances, and I needed maps integration. My first watch was a Pace 3, then I moved to a Pace pro, then to a 965. Garmin telling me every morning that I need to sleep as I’m not wearing the watch at night plus

My First Garmin Watch! (Forerunner 165)

Yes, but the really annoying thing is that in many Garmin watches, the features are actually just disabled on the "cheaper" watches, so the hardware can be pretty similar under the hood. Anyway, my point was more in humour than anything else - no matter how much you pay, there's always a feature (an

Just did the upgrade

965 to Pace 4

I’ve literally just done this last week. I had been wearing both watches for a week to make sure I was making the the right choice as really pace 4 is downgrade from the 965 on paper but coros is so much better the ecosystem is a lot cleaner, easier and modern compared to garmin. I’ve definitely fou

Do I need a chest/arm HRM?

I bought a Garmin HRM-Pro and found my Fenix 6X was petty much bang on. Upgraded to forerunner 965 abs annoyingly it’s nowhere near as accurate. Now I have the polar verity sense arm band as the chest strap is too uncomfortable to use all the time. I’d happily trust the Coros version. If you want to
