Garmin Epix 2 vs Suunto Race 2
Are you sure about Garmin discontinuing the support for Epix 2? In my understanding they do not offer the new features for ”F7 line-up” buy do bring any essential security updates and bug fixes. Anyhow, I do understand your frustration towards Garmin as I’ve spied the conversations and updates about

Using ,,pause,, on trail running
Don’t need to pause on advanced watches. With my Fenix 7, when in Ultra Run mode, if I physically stop it will assume I’m at an aid station and start counting that as non-moving time.

Out with the new, in with the old!
You have picked one of the greatest watches Garmin has released ever, IMO. The Fenix 7 Pro SS is one of the goats.

Start button color
i thought the same when i traded my fenix 7 solar for the pro solar. going from red to orange killed me on paper, but then i realized it do not matter at all and i got over my hatred of the orange in a few hours.

What's one expensive thing you bought... but totally DON’T regret?
Garmin Fenix 7 Pro (SS) reminds me to workout daily, tracks every activity, syncs with Healthy 365 app. In built flash light - sounds dumb but I use it daily as I’m an early bird. Only have to charge it once a fortnight 🤙

Will I ever lower my heart rate?
Highest I've got it recently is 210, not done a proper max HR test but I suspect it may go higher. And measuring it using my watch Garmin Fenix 7 Pro. I know optical wrist based sensors aren't perfect but that's more so in reacting to sharp changes in HR like interval sessions. I will get a chest st

Your favourite smartwatch?
I used to be in your shoes. Battery life is still Apple Watch’s Achilles heal. The Garmin Fenix 8 is pointlessly expensive So I have TWO recommendations for you: Garmin Fenix 7: I still can’t come up with a reason to get the 8. The 7 does everything you need it to but… So does the Garmin Fenix 5! Fi

Is instinct 3 useable for running?
I use the Instinct 2 and it is perfect, I run about the same amount and it has been great. i have used the fenix 7 and Corros watches as well. i LOVE my instinct because of the torch and looks the best.

How do you track your swims?
Get yourself a Garmin watch that supports open water swimming and you can afford. There are plenty of options available. I mostly use a Fenix 7 and occasionally an FR 255. Both work great in open water.

COROS Roadmap 2026
All speculation of course but I think a Vertix 4 in Q1 or Q2 is almost guaranteed. First Coros watch with an actual flashlight possibly. Apart from that it's more like guesses and wishes. If they keep the Pace Pro line and don't phase it out in favor of the regular Pace line, I think we will see a P
