Garmin epix pro 2 + edge 1040
TLDR: get a heart rate strap, connect everything to your edge once, and call it a day- no need to use the watch for anything. For the ones that have used a Garmin Watch, what made you come back to Apple Watch?
The most direct, truthful, answer for me is that I switched back to using an iPhone. When I use Android, it's Garmin. There's no good alternative in that space. However z I do believe the Apple Watch Ultra is the best smartwatch available overall. I've used a Garmin Epix Pro 2 Sapphire regularly sin

I like to not bring my phone on runs if I can help it. Not possible with the Epix as I also like to have texting

Multi-Day Backpacking Trip
As previously mentioned, yes just start a hike and it logs GPS. You can set different gps networks and precision that impact battery usage. Last summer I backpacked for five days out of June Lakes tracking each day while hiking with heart rate tracking and still had plenty of battery life left. I th
