Anyone own Garmin Smartwatch and Samsung Smartwatch? Torn between Fenix 8 and Samsung Watch 8 Classic
I have owned a Galaxy Watch Ultra. I currently own a Watch 8, a Garmin Epix Pro 2 51mm, and an Apple Watch Ultra. I run about 20-40 miles per week depending on if I am preparing for a race or not. I have an iPhone and a Samsung phone (currently zFold 7 and an iPhone 13 mini) because I use one for wo

Decision fatigue: Fenix 8 Solar and Apple Watch Ultra 3
I go back and forth on this as well. I have an iPhone and an Android phone (for work). So I have an Epix Pro Gen2 51mm, AWU, and a Galaxy Watch Ultra. They are all great devices honestly. I like to not bring my phone on runs if I can help it. Not possible with the Epix as I also like to have texting

Vertical 2 vs Epix Pro
I'm currently making the same decision, upgrading from a Fenix 6 sapphire. The Epix/Pro are on sale for amazing prices right now. Refurb 47mm Epix 2 sapphire (probably just open box returns) are $300 at BuyDig, Epix Pro Gen 2 are $550 new for 51 mm and $500 for 47mm sapphire. I have an Epix Pro Gen

My First MRG!
Cool watch but man they’re overpriced (as are watches feat automatic movements). A basic 5600 Gshock square solar is prob my fave all time everyday watch. I currently have a 5600 solar as well as a 2009 Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 500m quartz and an 18ct Continental (a Swiss watch that I won in

Which looks better
"There's nothing extreme about his use case." was your comment on 6 months of camping. I'm in a crossfit gym with tons of Garmin users. Granted small sample size but I bet 99% of even Garmin users probably don't do that. So logically, that makes the "6 month camping" usecase extreme. Again twisting

Garmin & AWU3 Users
I have an Epix Pro 2 and an AWU 1 & 2. Anymore, I just stick with the Apple Watch Ultras. I like a lot about the Garmin and I suspect that if I were a professional endurance athlete (or even a more serious one), I would wear it and only it. But I’m not. While training is important to me, it’s a part

You can’t convince me Garmin is better than Apple
Well.. I have decided not to decide on one or the other. I have been using AW since Series 3 (S3, S4, S7, Ultra and now Ultra2) and Garmin since the Fenix 3 (F3, F5, ForeRunner 965, F6 and now an Epix Pro G2 51. They are different animals. One is not better than the other. I wear the U2 for EDC. Hav

Fenix 8 Pro is useless...
You may want to ask yourself that question. I’d encourage you to look at the official Garmin specs of those watches. The published “always on” battery life for the Epix Pro Gen 2 51mm is 11 days. It’s 31 days in gesture mode or 41 days in battery saver mode. The Fenix 8 Pro AMOLED 51mm has better ba

On charging days, or if you ever need a break, what are y’all’s go-to watches in the interim? I’m enjoying this classic
I still have my Galaxy 6 that I wear from time to time just because I have it, not because I need to charged my Garmin. Battery in my Epix Pro Gen2 51mm still last about 3 weeks & being this aching body of mines need to soak in a magnesium bath once or twice a week I just charge it while soaking whe

Multi-Day Backpacking Trip
As previously mentioned, yes just start a hike and it logs GPS. You can set different gps networks and precision that impact battery usage. Last summer I backpacked for five days out of June Lakes tracking each day while hiking with heart rate tracking and still had plenty of battery life left. I th
