Garmin users are getting screwed, and most don’t even realize it

Honestly I checked their roadmap on the official site for Epix Pro Gen2 while buying, and I was so surprised when they dropped the strength coach later. Well, this was my last Garmin, they made us feel like a fool for trusting their word. Never again.

Garmin’s Q1 Wearable Software Updates Leaked – New Features Include Passcode and Body Battery TrueUp

Fenix 7/Epix Pro already abandoned with just a little more than a year. Then you have the Fenix E, which is just an Epix Gen 2 with the new UI/features, priced as a new flagship device. Garmin is really mocking their users in a very badly way. I understand than it's just a company wanting to make mo

Epix pro 2 sapphire

The biggest reason is that the epix 2 pro is not using the unified firmware. That means it will get fewer updates over time than the fenix 8. Garmin is switching from different teams making different watch software to one big firmware that they can turn features on or off for the different models. S

Can we agree?

I completely agree that Garmin has left the Epix behind so that you have to upgrade to the new Fénix 8 if you want the latest features. It's clearly planned obsolescence, and I really don't agree with Garmin's policy at all. If you buy an iPhone, or any other electronic device, they always include i

Best watch for swimming

Sadly no- fenix 7 and epix having faulty buttons after swimming. They dont last long if swimming with them. My start button on epix pro gen 2 had smooshy feeling after one day at lake, so I sold it and wont submerge any other watch again. Plesa check that problem

First time ever watch buyer. How many years out of Fenix 8?

Keep it until it dies which will usually 5+ years, or use it for 3 years then sell and upgrade. Having said that, I'm using an Epix Gen 2 from January 2022, but Garmin just replaced it for the forth time, so technically I have a brand new watch again, although only 2022 technology. It might do me 5+

Garmin users are getting screwed, and most don’t even realize it

No need to apologise. As far as I am aware Garmin stated that epix gen 2 line is terminated and they put the this device in support mode- which means that we will get no new features, no significant updates only bug fixes but if you do your research you would find out that since the release of fenix

Epix Pro Gen2/Fenix 7 Pro - would you buy this watch again or went for other brand/model?

I have Epix Gen 2. I would not buy another Garmin device again. Full of firmware bugs. I still have bug from February 2024. Low HR at beginning of activity; related to bluetooth. When this device dies, I don't know where I will go; it won't be Garmin. Possibly AW Ultra or Coros. To be decided.

PSA

I have some nylon straps too, its confortable and skin friendly. the only problem is they look like a cheap watch or cheap material. I have a epix pro gen 2, and I particulary dont like the appearance using a nylon strap.
