Apple Watch Ultra 1 users are you upgrading ?
Garmin is worse. They didn’t update their 1200€ watch after just under 2 years. The Epix Pro Gen 2 only received bug fixes and no new features or UI after releasing their Fenix 8.

You can’t convince me Garmin is better than Apple
Ha! I've been an Apple Watch user since they came out. I had some FOMO with my ultrarunner husband and daughter with their Garmins, so I got exactly that Epix Pro Gen 2. It lasted maybe 3 hours, and I hated it so much I returned it right away. I barely got through setting it up and knew it wasn't fo

Garmin died during IMLP
I feel your pain. My Epix gen 2 crapped out on me mile 25 of Ironman Copenhagen in 2023. Tbf I was similarly time-challenged that day. Went and bought a Fenix 8 with a 27 day battery life. Even I can’t go that slow…

Is it really worth upgrading from an AWU2 to an AWU3, or is it a waste of money?
Look at the Garmin epix gen 2 history of support before you do that if that is truly where you’re choosing to go

Buy fenix 8 or wait for fenix 9
I’m waiting, the 8 processor is so slow and dated. The screen takes longer to turn on than my Epix gen 2 (non pro) does. IMO it’s half baked for what they cost these days. That being said, if I needed a new Garmin right now I would still buy it lol.

Thoughts on vertical 2
I have just moved from Garmin - Enduro 2 / Epix gen 2 titanium sapphire whatever. I had a suunto 9 Baro about 4 years ago prior to Garmin. I used them all as “daily” watches but I don’t connect my phone - I can’t stand the notifications to my wrist so can’t speak to that aspect. All of the watches h

Exact same. Bought the Epix Pro Gen 2, and eight months later went back to the AWU3 once it came out. I prefer the AW, but different strokes for different folks

Amoled regret
I did the same. Went from Fenix 5 to EPIX Gen 2 and quickly back to Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar. I really like the MIP

Men who have cut out alcohol for health reasons (not because you're an alcoholic), what is your story?
lol I got a watch when I started running as well, and now I refuse to actually log my runs on the watch. Not sure what you have, but I have a garmin epix 2 and what frustrates me so much is the watch will judge my run and give me an endurance score based on the first quarter mile of my run. I genera

Anyone else get “smartwatch fatigue” and go back to a G-Shock?
100% - there is so much energy and noise in our modern world. Automated marketing piles on top of each other without regard for our time and attention. Youtube ads are ruining what used to be enjoyable. Healthcare world calls prior authorizations “customer abrasion” and I feel like all the mindless
