Birthday gift help! Which option would you pick?

This is good advice. I shoot with a Fujifilm X-T30 (i.e. cropped sensor) for day to day stuff, and a Canon R6 for sports. Both are good for what I need them for. Fuji is bloody mint for street photography, or just Aunt Jenny's birthday or whatever. The full frame on the Canon is overkill for that st

Ricoh GRIV: Right for Me?

Looking at your selection of photos I assume you prefer tighter focal lengths. Maybe instead of gr4 look into gr3x. Other option but not as compact is fujifilm cameras, x-t50 and x-e5 are small and you can put any lens on them or you can check out x100vi for a compact with built in lens. Also recent

Nikon Z50II for beginners?

That's the thing, there is no "the answer", you asked which people would recommend, and they're both great options, so people here much more likely to recommend the Nikon without any real objectivity. But even with objectivity, it's going to be hard to make a choice between them and is likely to com

Should I buy a FujiFilm?

Fujifilm cameras don’t take those photos, the photographer does. Fuji does make amazing cameras that are (in my opinion, at least) great as first proper cameras. I’d recommend starting with an X-T3 or X-T30 + XF 23mm f2 lens, if you can swing that. If not, the X-T1 or X-T2 are great too

XT30 II or XT30 III

I have an x-t30 ii and see zero reason to go for the iii model. The iii‘s autofocus is marginally better, and that film sim dial is gimmicky. The film sim dial only contains some of the film sims. Instead, on the ii, I have set one of the buttons for film sims that lets me instantly access all of th

Birthday gift help! Which option would you pick?

I don't think you need to go up to 1500 GBP. Check out the Fuji XT-30 II. It's 800 pounds base price, or this kit comes with a lens for another 100 pounds. I have this camera (though different lenses) and it's phenomenal. I can't imagine you would benefit from the features of some of the more expens

What's up with the hype around fuji cameras? Is the nikon Z50ii dual lens kit worth it over the XT30iii 13-33 mm one?

Fuji is certainly compelling in the APSC space, but having evaluated both I went for a Z50 years ago with various lenses and can say this: The kit lenses from Nikon really are mindblowing for the price/weight, the 16-50 and 50-250 are so easy to carry around and very sharp, this is one thing that dr

Just some fun on my XT30 + TT Artisan 23mm f1.8/ TT Artisan 27mm f2.8 and finally TT Artisan 50mm f1.2

As a hobbyist exclusively, I think almost all of the TT Artisan lineup is exceptional glass and have not been disappointed in a single lens yet. For cost and compactness alone that lens is worth its weight in gold. If you're nit picky you could say the AF is "Slower" - but for me, and capturing quic

Some impressions of our holiday

Thank you :) I used a Fujifilm X-T30 with its standard objective 18-55 mm. And yes, I work with Lightroom. But some shots already looked so good without much editing, so I tried to pull out the natural beauty, lighting, etc.
