"Camera doesn't matter" was holding me back.
I’ve got a Fujifilm X-H2S that I’ve been shooting on for a few years too now, and my experiences differ quite a lot from yours. I absolutely love it and think it’s an underrated workhorse of a camera. I like how well it performs as a stills camera and video camera. I do admit there are drawbacks but

Fujifilm officially announces the ETERNA 55 Cinema Camera
I own a GFX 100 II. The sensor is great for stills. But whyyyyyy is Fuji using a 100 megapixel photo sensor in this $16.5K camera. There is zero benefit to this slow-ass sensor in this application. If the big news here is 4K open gate, I can do that and more in so many other cameras for way cheaper.

FX3 or A7V as someone transitioning from photos to video
Honestly the X-H2S is a great camera and in some ways has a better image/video specs than either Sony (open gate, 6K, ProRes or high data rate H265, great color). The biggest improvement you’ll notice is autofocus (Fuji AF is terrible) but the lenses are bigger and more expensive. If you do get a So

FUJI XE5 OR FUJI X100VI for videography?
Neither. Amongst the Fuji's, the X-M5 is the rangefinder style body for you. The X-M5, X-S20, and X-H2 / X-H2S are the hybrid video cameras. They have a lot more options friendly to video stuff, including support for adding in fans to cool the thing down; better connectivity, etc. If you're really s

Full Frame: a hype designed to get consumers to upgrade
The X-H2S does have the ability to output BRAW too, and a lot of fuji shooters prefer to disable all in-camera denoising too because DaVinci does do a nicer job of it.

Colour matching 2 different Sonys w 10bit Canon
S-Log2 or HLG3 on the A7III since that camera is 8-bit. I used to shoot with it a lot, used it as a B cam on a few shoots with my Fuji X-H2S, and the S-Log2 from the A7III was easily matched to my F-Log2 footage. I've never shot with the A7IV so I don't know much about how well its codec and sensor

Manual focus for weddings advice (Xh2s woes)
I use an X-H2s for video, but am primarily a stills shooter for weddings. So my video experience has been limited to smaller engagements or elopement type stuff. I do a mix of AF/MF. But here's things that stand out to me: For AF, I usually just leave it at +3 sens, -1 speed, and alternate between t

Is this what it means to own a Leica M? — Leica M11 + Thypoch Simera 50mm f/1.4
I definitely cut my teeth on photography with Fujifilm. I had a Canon M6 II to begin with in 2019, but got caught by the X100V hype in March 2020 and fell in love with it. I captured a lot of life with that camera, which convinced me to sell the Canon for the XH2S (my main side gig is actually filmm

When buying a camera (as a hobbyist), are you more interested in the fun while shooting or the results?
ok..... i get enjoyment out of using my cameras. I have had cameras made by Fujifilm, Canon and Sony. The two Sony cameras produced technically excellent pics... no better than those from the other cameras... but... i found the user interface of the Sony cameras cumbersome. I found the menus to be a

Beginner filmmaker looking for an affordable camera for short films + photograph
Fujifilm xh2s. I own an Alexa Mini and I swear this tiny hybrid camera is the closest to it that also takes photos.
