Bird photography while hiking

I am a bird photographer and started with Fuji, worked my way up to an X-H2S/XF150-600 but then bailed due to weight and Fuji's never-ending autofocus problems. Switched to an OM-1/MZ100-400, both Mk II and have never been happier. I used to spend all my time worrying whether I would come back with

I'm so glad I didn't listen to those whose said "You can't shoot wildlife with Fuji"

I use the xh2s and I’d say that the AF is plenty fast but not reliable enough like other systems. However, it greatly depends on what the user‘s requirements are (casual wildlife shooter vs pro). For casual wildlife shooters the Fujifilm system is more than enough. But for pro usage it won’t cut it.

Looking left to Full frame & Looking right to M43 for wildlife

I had the X-H2S with XF160-600 lens for birds/wildlife. One day I actually sprained my wrist picking it up "wrong", and that combined with Fuji's crappy autofocus had me looking for something lighter and better. 2 years later here I am with an OM-1/MZ100-400 (both Mk II) and I couldn't be happier. Z50 II vs X-T30 III (or even the X-S20)

Lens recommendation for the Z6 family? (Coming from Fuji-land. Any recs from former Fuji shooters?)

Thanks. I'll checkout Viltrox. I'm older now and want autofocus. In fact, that's what tipped the scales into me foraying into Nikon mirrorless. If Fuji got it's act together and used the dual-stacked sensor properly to get excellent AF, I'd still be a happy camper, entrenched in the Fuji camp. But i

Took the X-H2S + Sigma 18-50mm to rural Punjab.

It's too expensive and feels abandoned by Fujifilm in terms of video, its missing features like waveforms that they added to the GFX 100 II, still suffers from poor video autofocus even on the latest firmware and the FX30 just makes way more sense for a working professional or somebody primarily sho

current rx100 is being discounted by $200, could this mean the V8 is on the way?

There were a few reasons why I didn’t get along with the X100VI, and why I returned it to keep the RX1R III, even though I have an X-H2S (soon to be replaced by an as yet unknown Sony). The first was the autofocus performance. My X-H2S is acceptable, if not Sony good, but the X100VI is only ok in AF

Upgrading to om-1 mark II or to 300mm f4 pro for wildlife?

I'll be frank with you. I've only been a bird (and occasionally other wildlife) photographer for 4 years (with another 50 years of other photography experience however), and I used a Fujifilm X-H2S with 70-300 and then moved up to a 150-600 lens. The autofocus was very spotty and the whole rig was t

Is it worth getting a Fujifilm APS-C camera to complement a full-frame system?

I would recommend renting gear first rather than buying based on recommendations. Only you know what your use case is, and what compromises you are willing to accept. I had Canon EOS film cameras and DSLRs for over 20 years before selling them and then I forayed into the Leica M system for a while.
