I am happy with my <$1000 setup and don't want to upgrade!

I'm a hair over $1K (Flair 49 pro, Zero 65 AP, eWizard), and very happy with the results. And the learning curve for me is steep. So many variables. Every morning is Forest Gump. "Box of chocolates..." Small changes introduce all sorts of variabilities in the pull, the output volume, when the pressu

49 pro vs 58X

I have the 49 pro, and preheat twice. For me it isn't inconvenient as it has become part of my normal rhythm and cadence. And I've also never tried just preheating once, so I have no idea if I'm overkilling it. OTOH, I'm leaning lighter as I typically roast City or City+, so maybe it should stay in

Flair 49 Pro or Flair Pro 3? (First Manual)

I own flair pro 3. Problem, back to back shot workflow, need to disassemble the pressure chamber with hot water. You will need to be near a sink for clean up. 49 just knock the puck, wipe with towel and good to go. Built quality, the aluminium holding the chamber is not properly protected, and needs

Flair 49 Pro or Flair Pro 3? (First Manual)

I'll be taking notes on what you've said for what to buy and how to care for flair manual espresso. You and other redditors (?) help me decide to end up going for Flair 49 Pro as my first manual as for the following reasons: Better workflow compared to Flair Pro 3, for sure my family would definitel

$5.99 DeLonghi Goodwill Special

I got one of the same machine 7 years ago for a girl i was with that worked at an overly sugary/terrible espresso shop and she "taught me" and i used it for 2 years daily. I got another one free that needed cleaning on marketplace right after and i ran it like crazy. After getting it dialed in with

What’s the next upgrade after Bambino?

OP, if your espresso focus, you should get a fully manual lever. You're not gonna get better results than that sub-$1000. Maybe check out the Flair 49 Pro or the Cafelat Robot, both under $500 and outclassing everything in that price bracket.

49 pro vs 58X

I have the 58x, I also do light to medium roast. Normally I just leave it on the electric kettle for a few minutes. And it's enough for pre heat. 5 to 8 min. I would say the 58x is better for just one reason. Some come heater enabled. So it's easier and cheaper if you want to upgrade it to electric.

Worth it to upgrade the brew chamber? Classic -> Pro 2 or 3?

Not that 49 pro is bad. It has similar workflow to flair 58. Only no possibility of upgrading to heated chamber, or loss out on 58mm portafilter for more clarity as you can always buy stepdown basket for more syrupy espresso.. as for the workflow, it worth the money if you like that type of espresso

Best machine for under 500

The home espresso world is evolving quite quickly. For light roasts people generally want to use lower pressure and sometimes slower longer preinfusions. This has evolved all the way to more recently almost unpressurized shots (SOUP shots). And prior to SOUP coarser ground faster flowing shots such
