European brands that disappointed you?
Fjällräven. My old Kånken survived university and years of travel. The replacement I bought last year is already falling apart.

Is owning a Deuter bag in Germany a mandatory requirement for citizenship?
Could also be a Fjällräven Kanken, see them around a lot as well. Pretty expensive for a piece of woven plastic.

Koulureppu hakusessa
Itse ostin just Fjällräven Räven 20 -repun läppärin ja muun roinan raahaamiseen.

School backpacks recommendations
Well yes, Fjällräven backpacks have always carried a heavy price tag. If you've never owned a Kånken it's quite a leap of faith.

European brands that disappointed you?
I've used hiking apparel and packs from a bunch of European-based brands in the past 2.5 decades. Every single pair of Haglöfs hiking pants I've had has outlived every single pair of Fjällräven hiking pants in my use. (good to know, that both brands make their products primarily in the Far East, des

My eyelashes after 5min in -36°C (-33 F) - North Sweden
It's kinda weird since they actually suck compared to good backpacks.. also expensive. Of all the products Fjällräven makes I'd say Kånken is one of the worst. They have amazing backpacker stuff like Kajka and their outdoor stuff is generally top of the line. Kånken just feels cheap..

What am I looking at here?
The real Kånken is made with a 65% polyester, 35% cotton blend which is matte in appearance. This is so shiny you would suspect it's nylon and there is also some PU or vinyl coated stuff in there for some reason. They actually put the reverse side of the fabric on the outside which is pretty funny.

"portable" backpack for short trips?
The Fjällräven Toteback and the Kanken are both pretty damn uncomfortable imo. Sounds like what you are looking for is a packable backpack that has some structure to it, but is very light weight. A few ideas: Pakt Stash - has a little padding on back, 400g so pretty light, folds into a small space G

Deuter Access Pro 65 Travel Bag
What do you want to carry in your daypack? 10 l is not much, it will fit some small items like a water bottle, small snack, wallet, phone, ebook, chargers.... if that's enough then go for it. If you want to be able to put an additional layer or a beach towel (at the destination) or any bigger stuff,

I have zero sewing skills but I respect people who know how to fix/modify their clothes and gear. I believe that my Jääkäri's can take some punishment, so I will continue to man handle them how I please and see how well they hold up. I picture the average Savotta user being a fit 30+ man, possibly w
