Kånken

Fjällräven. My old Kånken survived university and years of travel. The replacement I bought last year is already falling apart.

You don't have to get this exact brand, but a rigid, solid backpack where the fit is tight and allows the pack to sit firmly against your back is a must; looking at this brand will give you an idea of what to look for. My dad's friend bought one of the first editions of a Fjällräven Kånken when they where first released in the 70s. It's still as good as new!

As a Swede, I have never seen anyone hike with a kånken backpack. Fjällräven makes real hiking bags which the commenter you responded to probably mixed up with Kånken.
