Kånken

Fjällräven. My old Kånken survived university and years of travel. The replacement I bought last year is already falling apart.

Best thing I ever got was a Fjällräven Kånken. You don't have to get this exact brand, but a rigid, solid backpack where the fit is tight and allows the pack to sit firmly against your back is a must; looking at this brand will give you an idea of what to look for. My dad's friend bought one of the first editions of a Fjällräven Kånken when they where first released in the 70s. It's still as good as new!

As a Swede, I have never seen anyone hike with a kånken backpack. Fjällräven makes real hiking bags which the commenter you responded to probably mixed up with Kånken.

Could also be a Fjällräven Kanken, see them around a lot as well. Pretty expensive for a piece of woven plastic.

I’ve been a fan of Fjällräven stuff for many years and I don’t remember ever seeing a discontinued color of Kånken come back. The only exception is on Fjällräven’s Preloved marketplace; I read somewhere that a lot of the bags sold directly by Fjällräven are good as new and I’ve seen some old colors

I have one of those tiny backpacks (fjällräven Kånken mini). It has served me well over the years and it allows me to carry my sketchbook, art supplies and/or (smaller) crochet projects.
