Sitter did not notify owner that dog escaped

Reason #9,723,777,521 EVERY dog should own a Fi collar. I know its hindsight, but the owner would hv been able to see exactly when the dog escaped, could hv made the sitter aware that they know and most importantly would hv known within 50ft of where the dog was. Please get your dogs tracker collars

We can’t stop our dog from running away.

Edit: a lot of people are recommending shock collars and electric fences. This is against the rules for this sub. Dogs that run are not deterred by a shock collar or electric fence and it can make them less likely to come back once they do escape. I too have a runner. Here is what has helped in case

GPS Dog Fence for Multiple Dogs

I will forever recommend Fi collars. They only do GPS though and quite honestly, if your dogs are going through the effort to get out of a physical fence, they’re not going to care about a wireless fence. All tracking collars will have their pros and cons. Fi is not as quick to report a dog out of b

Loki showing off his new collar

I like the Fi tracking a lot. The first week I had Loki he ran away and I was able to find him once he tired himself out. Granted he was a little faster than the tracker so I feel like the live tracking was struggling with updates lol, but once he was exhausted and stopped I was able to get him. I w

3rd Post Today (By Me) Regarding Crappy GPS Tracking - Read this from 7 months ago

As someone said in that link you provided: "You phone was reporting a location and your watch was reporting another set of location. Strava on your watch is designed to report at very frequent intervals and kills its battery very fast (you likely recharge your watch every day). Your Fi collar is aim

The post above explains it. The fi collar is designed to last for weeks/months that is why it updates less. Until you put it in lost dog mode. If you want second by second updates there are collars for that but they are huge and have to be charged every day or two.

Advice Requested: tracking quality of walks with my dog sitter via Safe Zone

I noticed that my WiFi is strong enough that both the Fi Collar and my phone stay connected until I’ve passed 4 or 5 houses and cross 1 street while walking my dog. This causes our walks to start not at my house but down the street for some reason. I would think the walk should start when we leave t

Fi App showed that dog I'm taking care of never left their home!

Oh wow, i had no idea! Ive never used the app myself and havw only just seen them on some dogs collars. My friend has one and says it lags or won't show accurate details sometimes when I told her about this and it made me think it was kinda on par with a tag. Have you had any weird experiences with

Tracking collar recs?

We have Fi collars on our dogs but they’re not my favorite. Once got an alert that our dog had escaped and was running through the neighborhood but was actually at home the whole time - very worrisome as I was not at home when I got the alert and rushed home to search the neighborhood for him. I’ve

And Another Example of This POS Collar GPS "Tracking" (See Previous Post)

I have a Pixel 10 and a Garmin watch, and both of my Fi collars work just fine for tracking. The collar tracking vs my watch match on both of my dogs perfectly.
