I see alot of people having trouble with the fellow opus, thankfully, someone in the video comments pointed out about the alignment. you're supposed to push down the blue ring and then adjust the outer ring. then for the next time, just move the outer ring to 1 to reset the alignment and then you ca

I’ve been testing our dev units and consistently have seen retention at 0.1g or less - usually less. From a coffee nerd / ex barista standpoint (not just a “hi I’m Hailie from Fellow,” standpoint), I am beyond excited for opus 2.

Fellow Opus. Baratza ESP also a great option. I’ve had both because I’m sick in the head. Fellow is a little quieter, looks better, but has some grind retention issues that don’t both me but may bother you. I like that the Opus has a timer to stop, so I don’t have to run across my house to stop grin

Fellows Opus - $480 or soDon't let the plastic body put you off as they spent all the money on high quality conical stainless burrs. Not a lot of retention and once dialled in really great crema and espresso.

It’s in the weeds for sure and a lot comes down to preference. The fellow opus is an entry level electric grinder at the same price as a manual hand grinder. It has options for espresso and options for coarse grinds for pour over, so it’s multifunctional. I never even considered the burr type or siz

I've got the Fellow Opus grinder, some cheapish but reliable scales, and a Moccamaster One Cup - and I couldn't be happier with my set-up. I'm the same as you, I have a couple of black cups in the morning and that's me sorted. I do have a V60 and an Aeropress, but I just can't be bothered with them

Seems like you just want to hate on the grinder or fellow. I have had the opus, and yes, it has flaws, but it's not as bad as what you make it to be. I use RDT and get very little retention. No grinder is perfect and every grinder has a bit of retention esp if you don't do RDT. Even Weber EG1 has re

First of all: Its definitely good to have two separate grinders for light and dark roasts, to avoid flavor change of the light roast by the dark. There is also less cleaning with lighter roasts. Recommend to keep that. :) For light roasts, you can either consider the Ode Gen2 (I have it, and there i

I got a Fellow Opus on fb marketplace for $85 and it has been great for both espresso and pour overs. I haven’t had any trouble with retention. Don’t go with the Breville.
