Had a Fellow Opus, don’t recommend it. The opus is all plastic, for espresso the micro adjustments are unnecessarily complicated and shortly after a year it kicked the bucket and refused to work. Local repair shops have been unable to get the part that got fried. The Ode is pourover or immersion onl

Honestly, 2026 market is such a mess. I was looking at Fellow Opus too because it’s easily the best-looking one, but that adjustment ring is a total dealbreaker if you’re switching beans often. I ended up just getting a DF54 last month and for the price, the flavor clarity is insane. It's basically

i'd skip the smart grinder pro entirely - retention is awful and it's not great for espresso. Turin DF54 is the best value under $400 right now. flat burrs, low retention, and does both espresso and french press well. Baratza Encore ESP is a close second if you want better customer support and parts

The Shardor 64mm wins by a landslide and I have both. The Fellow Opus is visually appealing. The magnetic cup is fun. The grinds are great for espresso and drip. I don't even mind the precision adjustments using the inner ring. However, unless you want to play the Bongo drums multiple times a day th

How is your taste experience with grinded coffee for espresso by opus fellow? Mine was horrible. Dud you make use of microadjustments? Ive never bothered. Ivenow changed to a niche zero amd its a complete game changer!
