Gifted an incredible machine but can’t afford a top tier grinder to match…what’s good enough? [$250]

You could wait to see how the reviews are for the Fellow Opus 2. The original Opus wasn’t a hit; but it looks like the Opus 2 might be the grinder to beat at that price point.

Starbucks CEO defends $9 coffee says ‘it’s not a $10 coffee and you get a premium experience’

I'm a Flair user. I started with the Kingrinder K6, but I have a Fellow Opus that I use at home now. I know the Kingrinders go on sale pretty frequently on Amazon. The Opus used to as well, but it seems it's being phased out for the Opus 2. It looks like some retailers like Macy's have it on closeou

Grinder recommendations needed [$300-$350] I’m open to hand grinders or auto

I’m very happy with my affordable Fellow Opus (I bought from my company’s “rewards program” shop so it was f-r-e-e). With regular cleaning, it’s superb.

Grinder recommendations [Budget ~$200]

You guys read the post and you come up with a hand grinder rec?! Yikes. OP, the Encore ESP is a solid grinder at $200. It’s reliable and has been around for years, you can’t go wrong. If you can wait until mid-May, the Fellow Opus 2 should be out and at $200 should make for a really strong contender

Is it better to spend more on beans or on equipment for home espresso? [No budget]

I think grinder, water, beans and then equipment Grinder because if you have a bad one with inconsistent ground size then you’ll get a bad brew. That said I don’t think you need to go super expensive of you can’t afford. I think the fellow opus is good enough. Water because brewed coffee is mostly w

DF54 vs Fellow Opus Gen 2

Opus 2 is a "complete redesign" from Opus 1, and that is promising. Ode 2 was not a redesign from Ode 1 (moreso the burr) so that's clear admission by Fellow that Opus 1 was not a good design. There are no reviews for Opus 2, it's not out yet, so you should absolutely wait if you're in no rush to se

Coffee grinders

look into the Fellow Opus 2 it is a significantly reworked and better version of the original Opus gen 1, and can do the pourover / filter coffee / manual brew as well, which is not a usual feature of other low-cost grinders, often tailored for espresso, which produce more fines across the whole ran

Electric Conical Burr Grinder for a Beginner [Flexible Budget: $200-900]

Sounds like a good fit for the Niche Zero. I had one for several years and really liked it before wanting to switch to flat burrs. I still miss the lack of bellows and general ease of use with the Niche. Might be worth looking at a Fellow Opus like the other commenter mentioned since it's so much ch

Fellow Opus 2 First Impressions

From a branding/marketing perspective it makes a difficult environment to communicate to customers on what to expect from your products. It also creates a case of customers not trusting more expensive products that you release. It's why companies often create new brands to differentiate their luxury
