Resin printing "arms race" over?
Same as before. Expect 12 months between cycles. This year was odd, printers got released on a shorter cycle. The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K was probably supposed to be the Saturn 5, but Elegoo released it early (only 7-8 months after the Saturn 4/4 Ultra). Probably because Uniformation was releasing the 16

Saturn 4 Ultra 16K, over a year of troubleshooting and I still can't fix it.
The S4U springloaded plate means that wait times are even more mandatory than regular printers. The light turns on way before the resin has settled and the springs have found home. This means you get a layer thicker than supposed especially at 20um, your bottom layers are probably closer to 0.5 or e

First print not sticking ( Saturn 4 Ultra 16k)
All printers need more Rest After Retract (Chitubox) / Wait Before Print (Lychee) / Wait time before cure (UVTools) for the base layers. Your adhesion failure here is because your raft is printed with over thick layers. Almost looks like the raft was failing to adhere from the start or isn't actuall

Dead Spot on Screen
That will be a screen replacement. And, yeah it's getting too common with the S4U just past the 1 year mark. Here's my theory on the source of the problem - bad software configuration of the automatic leveling system and lack of a baked in Rest After Retract along with a couple methods to prevent th

Been having some issues on a print with my saturn 4 ultra
Just going to copy-paste my comment from a couple weeks ago on the matter of S4U dead LCDs: For you next LCD, definitely look into use Rest After Retract (Chitubox) / Wait time before cure (UVTools name) via UVTools for the first 20 layers or so like the following settings: https://www.reddit.com/r/

Suddenly getting these "flakes" in my prints, could use help.
I was going to ask if it was a Saturn 4 Ultra with the crazy thick raft you've got going on in the first picture. When you let it print rafts that far over thickness (what is that 1.7-2.1mm for a 1mm raft?). Your LCD has pressure spot failures, and it is likely because the build plate and overly thi

Saturn 3 vs Saturn 4 in 2025
TL;DR: The Saturn 3 Ultra is a bad value, the Saturn 4 Ultra is an ok value. Best value is the Saturn 3 non-Ultra. Phrozen is Elegoo and Anycubic quality at twice the price. And they generally have worse UV light uniformity. And their support sucks. As a former Phrozen owner, was glad to get rid of

Suggestions for next printer?
If the Saturn 3 (non-Ultra) is available to you, it's the best bang for your buck and last of the non auto-leveling printers worth buying. Usually less than $270. Heygears is running a sale on the Reflex RS for $499, which is the lowest that printer has ever been. It's probably the only auto-levelin
