Resin printing "arms race" over?
Same as before. Expect 12 months between cycles. This year was odd, printers got released on a shorter cycle. The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K was probably supposed to be the Saturn 5, but Elegoo released it early (only 7-8 months after the Saturn 4/4 Ultra). Probably because Uniformation was releasing the 16

Was thinking of buying a H2D but friends are warning me away from Bambu?
They also keep producing spare parts. No idea if that will continue, but as a comparison, my Saturn 3 Ultra, which I bought last year, has a dead screen and Elegoo has stopped manufacturing them. I can find one third party or buy off of aliexpress, but you're talking about like $130 for something th

New to Resin - which saturn?
Generally speaking the Saturn 4 Ultra 16k is the best option for most people. I investigated and wrote the original post explaining the 3-bit grayscale deficiency and it is still present. I also bought a S4U 16k and subsequently worked out a dithering method with UVTools to restore a significant por

Best resin printer for minis and dummies
Believe me not much exciting has happened in the last 3 years in resin printing, get yourself an old new stock reliable printer with tons of community support and replacement parts, like a elegoo Saturn 3 or smaller mars 3, any cubic m5 or creality halot mage. No rocking vats or anything like that.

Looking to replace my current printers. Need input from professionals
Elegoo Mars 3 Pro, Saturn 3 and Saturn 4 Ultra owner, been running them for the past 4 years +. (Starting slowly with the Mars and building up to the later ones. ) I use Chitubox Pro for slicing. Only had an issue once with a power switch pcb which Elegoo was happy to provide after verifying it was

Most reliable printer
TL;DR: It’s not the brand, they all suck, although Elegoo has remained popular for a reason. I’m up to having owned 7 resin printers. 4 of those are Elegoo, and I’ve owned a Phrozen and currently own an Anycubic (along with 2 Saturns). I’m quite critical of the resin printer market, but Elegoo has a

Anycubic M7 or Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra?
Anycubics are a larger gamble in terms of QC than Elegoo. A lot of M7s come with concave plates. On top of that, Anycubics can't use per layer wait times, so they have even more trouble with adhesion than other auto-leveling printers, especially with low cure depth resins (light colored/high detail)

Suggestions for next printer?
If the Saturn 3 (non-Ultra) is available to you, it's the best bang for your buck and last of the non auto-leveling printers worth buying. Usually less than $270. Heygears is running a sale on the Reflex RS for $499, which is the lowest that printer has ever been. It's probably the only auto-levelin

Finally finished painting my first Combat Patrol
Right now, an Elegoo Saturn 3 (wife bought me it in the Christmas sale for £170) but I originally had an Anycubic Mono that was super reliable; just slower due to the smaller build plate. I got that for about £130 with the wash and cure station during a Black Friday sale a few years back. I use chea
