Apple's New N1 Chip in iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone Air Has a Wi-Fi 7 Limitation (“the N1 chip in all of the new iPhone models supports up to 160 MHz channel bandwidth for Wi-Fi 7, short of the standard's 320 MHz maximum.”)
Short explanation, 320 MHz only exist in the 6Ghz band. Just because your router has Wi-Fi 7 doesnt mean it has 6Ghz band, and therefore no 320 Mhz. Eero 7 router doesn't have it, but the Eero 7 Pro / Max has it, you really need to study the devices. 320 MHz, just expands a highway from 2 lanes into...
House built in 2005. Just closed yesterday. What is this?
This is correct!! This is a small home network pot of gold!! Add Modem right to that wall, feed your router and/or POE switch all right there, then put a POE WAP at all 4 of those Ethernet locations!! Donzo!! Use Ubiquiti if you kinda know what you’re doing, use Eero Pro POE Gateway and Eero POE WAP...
Nobody:
Trying to figure this out currently. I’ve read a lot of posts. I’m on Frontier Fiber, 1g, ps5 plugged into my eero pro 7 router. Only thing I can’t do is designate the portal to 5GHz, router doesn’t allow for that. But fuck it sucks when it lags.
Current Consensus on the U7 Issues
I bought two U7 Pro Max's for a client's residence. Terrible performance. He ultimately went with Eero 7 and loves it. And he thinks I don't know my shit now because I recommended Ubiquiti.
Avoid the Hoxton Holborn — it’s basically a giant WeWork with beds
An eero 7 max can handle 250+ There aren't 250 people / devices in that photo. Honestly, you sound a bit behind the times. I've got 60 online devices in my place. All works a charm even with my teens and their friends streaming concurrently. I can keep playing Fortnite, I mean work, all day no probs...
Eero Pro 7 Review: Great Mesh Networking, Even if You Don’t Have Wi-Fi 7
It would be multiple products and it's very customizable based on your needs. Going to be comparing to the Pro Deployment which is $699 No Wiring but only need WiFi?Dream Router 7: $2792x U7 Pro + 2 POE injectors: $408Total: $687 Need at least 1 ethernet ports near the mesh AP?Dream Router 7: $2792x...
Greenlight vs Frontier Fiber, Price vs Quality?
Greenlight has been rock solid and high speed for me, if Frontier has been fine for you and you have fiber from them then it's fine too. Fiber does not need a specific router, it's the same as cable from the perspective of the router. Greenlight (and every other fiber provider) installs a ONT box to...
Recommendation for a new mesh WiFi 7 system?
So here's my situation, and I would love some suggestions of perhaps setups I'm not thinking of.
House is about 4200 square feet across three levels. For the past five years, I've used an Orbi RBK753 system to cover the house with the main router in my office (center of the house, middle floor) and...
Neighbours using all available 2.4Ghz channels... what should I do?
"My shitty U6-Pro is only getting 60mbps when I pay for 400mbps" The above channels are absolutely not a problem, larger density areas like big cities/condos/etc are 20-30 times more filled than this and I put in Ruckus or Eero Pro doing mid gb + all day long.
AP7 consensus
Gold pro with 4 AP7’s. Largely happy with them. They’re better than the eero pro 7’s I was testing previously. Still debating if I will keep them or continue to use the Asus equipment I have, but I do like the added benefits of the complete firewalla ecosystem they offer.
