Yes! Exactly that. The Air’s throttling is fine. My use won’t be heavy loads. Web browser, soft phone, and a few apps. That’s it. Right now I’m stuck lugging an XPS 16 9640. They spoiled me with the Core9 Ultra and 4070 but… I very much do not like Windows.

That Dell XPS is incredibly low value for what you are paying for it. It can most likely run it, since E:D will run on basically anything above a toaster. That being said I had a dell XPS laptop and the bios update last month explicitly said it was updating the keys (is the bios you download directly from dell) Alwaya good to keep bios up to date due to security fixes.

I have a XPS 16 and sleep mode doesn't work ... But hibernate doesn't seem to work either. Dell needs to prioritize and fix this.

Maybe a bit out of your price range but the new dell xps looks quite appealing and seems to fit the specs you are looking for. Im giving it serious thought whether to get one to run linux on or just replace my macbook for the new m5. Much prefer linux to mac os though.

Disclaimer: I’m in grad school studying architecture, not at RISD (idk why this sub is always recommended to me). But for any creative major where frequent software usage is going to be required (including illustrator, photoshop, etc) I would recommend against MacBooks and choose windows as most sof
