OP ..you have a good idea in your head - Dell UltraSharp 27 4K Thunderbolt Hub Monitor - U2725QE. This is the one everyone recommends here in Reddit or even on YouTube for a years so I think it’s the best bet. I don’t think that different ppl would recommend the same monitor and this monitor is bad.

My dilemma is I want to first test it out as a secondary monitor on an old iMac and the iMac only has DisplayPort output. Which is compatible with HDMI input but only at 30 Hz reliably apparently. s

I’m in the market for one too and have decided on the Dell Ultrasharp U2725QE. I kept seeing it recommended over and over in reviews and am not looking to spend like 2k on the Apple Studio.
