In betterDisplay go into the settings menu select your display Dell U5226KW system configuration and flexible scaling: -> enable: edit the system configuration of this display model -> enable: enable flexing scal

I had access to and was daily driving the U5226KW for the last 2 months at work. Never had a drop out with the many Dell laptops and desktops tested. Also worked fine with the Macbooks we tossed at it.
