Auf welcher Skala ist die Kaffeemaschine meiner Mutter und was wäre ein Upgrade?
DeLonghi Magnifica ist keine schlechter Vollautomat, wenn man keine großen Kaffee-Experimente machen will. Die ist relativ robust und wartungsfreundlich. Hatte die gleiche für 5 Jahre, bevor ein Automat mit festem Wasseranschluss ins Haus kam.

I did a bunch of reading, and it seems like opinions really vary on these, but Costco was running a black friday deal on the De'Longhi Magnifica Evo. Im not a coffee snob by any means, but the machine makes spectacular coffee in my opinion

This so much. We've got ourselves a DeLonghi Magnifica S for around 250€ a few years ago. After a bit of manual calibration, the coffee is consistently excellent at the price of just the beans and a few water filters per year.

Buy a used DeLonghi on Marketplace. The Magnifica will grind beans and make espresso. Usually about $200. Great value.

Portugal in february-early March trip report!
